Mattel Toys- Batman Dark Knight Rises Review and Giveaway

Step inside and take a a look at something brand new and awesome.
As many of you know, there is a new Batman movie that just came out, July 20, 2012 to be exact. This movie is going to be the final of Christopher Nolan’s Batman. The movie looks great, the trailers are action packed and the cast is star studded. Christian Bale as Batman, Anna Hathaway as Cat Woman and Tom Hardy as Bane. That’s right Bane, as in back breaking Bane. This movie has so much potential it is mind boggling.

Bane is one of Batman’s most feared enemies, with the help of a drug which resembles a mix of steroids and human growth hormones, and a healthy dose of radiation- Bane is a formidable foe. Also, as an icing on the cake, Cat Woman is this movie as well. Cat Woman is always nice to see on the big screen. I know what some of you are saying- that is not Bane, and that is definitely not the Cat Woman we all know. But as with Joker in the previous film, Mr. Nolan changed some costumes [Read more…]

Playmobile Vet Clinic Review and Giveaway

I have always enjoyed Playmobile toys. Their creativity the ability to tack onto other play sets and include the spies in with the farm, who have sick pets and must go to vet clinic, of course. Wait- if you have no vet clinic, that means none of the tools or equipment needed to heal that chicken’s wing. Oh No! LOL

Take a look at the new Playmobile Pet Clinic Play set. This play set is packed to the brim with accessories, like the scalpel, injection needle, desks chairs computer, animal cages and of course and operating table. The set also includes a few pets to fix up, including guinea pigs, rabbits, and cats. Another awesome feature of this play set is is portability. All the accessories and critters all fit inside the vet clinic which seals up and has an easy carry handle. I love it when toys are their own clean up. Little Man really likes that too. He doesn’t like when something is [Read more…]

Squishy Baff Review

Alright, who thinks baths are too…. I don’t know… clean? Where’s the slime? LOL I spend all day in school drawing in the lines being nice to teacher, why can’t I play in some slime, says the Little Man. This is indeed a good argument to have- a valid one indeed. The execution of playing in slime is difficult at best. Why not surprise your little hard worker with a nice Baff. A Baff changes with but one packet of mix, not two but one.

Please use packets one at a time. IE once per baff. Dad got antsy and dumped in both packets. It was neat, but way too solid. Either way, as you can see, Little Man had a great time playing in the goop. He likes to smack it because it jiggled. He also [Read more…]

Summer time- is there anything more fun then going to the beach and building sand castles all day, spending time with the kids making moats, then smashing sand buildings like a giant monster? Playing in the sand can be great fun, but when was the last time you gave a good look over your sand toys? Got a few buckets with no handles? Maybe a shovel with the head cracked. Need a New Bathing Suit? Try SwimSpot

Ah, swimsuit season. Almost no one’s favorite- wearing the bathing suit. UGH. We all have our problem areas, and it can be challenging to find the right fit and style. For those of you like me, it’s all about breast support. Nothing else comes close to the annoyance of trying to find a suit that fits right, and holds your chest IN and UP. Oy.

Swimspot has some beautiful bathing suits, tankinis, bikinis, one piece- you name it. For me, this Athena One Piece Bathing Suit is beautiful, but lacks any support. While it covers my chest for the most part, there is no support, no “lift”, and no control. You cannot tighten the straps, either. Swimspot does offer the suit in sizes for women with large breasts, which is great! The same sizes- just a larger cup size, which is hard to find. Now to add some support for those large chested ladies, and we have lift off 🙂 (Hehe.)

Win a Doll from @JcToys

My girls love dolls, they’d give you an earful of what kinds they like and what accessories they need, which seems larger than their own wardrobe at times.

We or I should say my daughters were able to review a doll from JC Toys. It’s one of the many specialty dolls that any young girl would love to have and hold. The site really offers a doll for any child, whether they want a certain color, size even soft or vinyl you can find it all right there. We had the chance to pick one of the adorable huggable dolls designed by Berenguer. Huggable it is !

This cuddle baby is one of four in the Lots to Cuddle Animal Theme, the others are cat, cow and lamb. My youngest daughter picked the Giraffe as it was just too cute for words in her eyes.
Each huggable doll comes with their own themed outfit and of course a cute little [Read more…]

Looking for NYC Travel Options? Check Out @TheBenjaminNYC Hotel

We recently had the pleasure of experiencing the accommodations at The Benjamin Hotel in New York City.
They have a wonderful package going on right now called Lions and Tigers and Cereal, where families that book can experience a fun-filled family package including tickets to the Central Park Zoo, sunscreen and a Frisbee for some park fun, a few boxes of cereal delivered to the room the night before so it is ready for the kids, and room service breakfast the next day for mom and dad from Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian’s restaurant, located in the hotel.

The staff was friendly and helpful- which any mom will tell you is key when traveling with little ones. They even found me a new needle when mine broke and I NEEDED to fix Little Man’s owl- it had a hole- and it was just a major emergency, as you can imagine 🙂
The hotel was very clean and well organized. The refrigerator was well stocked, if pricey. The bathroom shower was clean enough to give the kids a bath in- which as you know I am VERY particular about.

You can also order up many pillows as you’d like from the 12-choice pillow menu. While that may sound odd- it was really a cute, interesting experience, and the kids had fun. Oh yes, and of course- a pillow fight.

After said pillow fight, the kids took a bath and got into their Winkzzz kid-sized robes, provided by the hotel. The staff delivered up some cookies and milk, as well as a plate of fruit for an evening snack, and then it was time to start winding down for bed. I thought that the milk and cookies (with a healthy option) was a nice touch, and very sweet for the kids. They really enjoyed it, and it felt more like home to them. Something familiar. As for bedtime routines- the hotel offers a wide variety of lending books to choose from- you choose the ones that appeal to your child(ren), and then they remove them the next day when you are finished with them. One less thing to pack, and it is fun for the kids to pick- like a portable library- how adorable is that?

The kids also liked snuggling with Winkzzz himself (well, ok- the stuffed version- an owl by Mary Meyers) while they read their books, were read to, and got ready for bed.
The next day, the [Read more…]
