Nutrish dog food by Rachel Ray

This post brought to you by Nutrish. All opinions are 100% mine.

Today we are going to talk about our furry four legged friends. You all know we do animal rescue, and our personal dog, Chaac the Wonder Dog, is of course adopted  🙂   We love pets here.  There is quite a bit of controversy surrounding what is put into dog food.  Go into a GOOD pet store and ask the person there “What dog food should I be feeding my dog”?  Their responses will blow your mind, most dog food you buy at the supermarket is really not that good for your dog.  Most of the time the first ingredient in the food is corn.  When have you ever seen a wild canine to ravage a corn field?  Isn’t corn bird food?  Well, that is where Nutrish comes in.  Nutrish is actually very good for your dog, the first ingredient in any variety is meat, chicken or beef.  I don’t mean filler meat I mean actual meat regular good chicken and beef.  Rachael Ray Nutrish just 6 dry dog food

Enough about what I thought of the food-  what did Chaac the Wonder Dog think of it?  Well, he says- tail wag, tail wag, sit, look at the bowl, and look at me then back at the bowl.  In case you don’t understand this particular dialect of K9 this means “That was good, I thoroughly enjoyed that meal.  Please mummy may I have some more?”

Chaac devowering

As you can plainly see he loved it.  One more cool characteristic of the food is all the proceeds go to animal charities.  YAY for companies that care!!  It is very nice seeing someone who is famous actually stand by a product they believe in and  work to improve things a bit.

THE ALUMINUM SHOW- at the PPAC and 50% off code

THE ALUMINUM SHOW, a unique and energetic experience for the entire family, will astound audiences at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) from Friday, May 20 through Sunday, May 22.  THE ALUMINUM SHOW is the final installment in the 2010/2011 TACO/The White Family Foundation Contemporary Classics Series.  Performances times are Friday, May 20 at 8pm; Saturday, May 21 at 2pm & 8pm; and Sunday, May 22 at 1pm & 6:30pm.
THE ALUMINUM SHOW is a “stimulating tour-de-force” that combines movement, dance, visual theatre, and plenty of humor. Since its 2003 debut at the Israel Festival in Jerusalem, THE ALUMINUM SHOW has gained international attention and recognition.  The BBC News called THE ALUMINUM SHOW “visually stunning” and Fox News TV said, “A fascinating, family-friendly, fun, and interesting show . . . incredibly interactive from the front of the theatre all the way to the back.”
THE ALUMINUM SHOW launched its third U.S. tour this past January in Lubbock, Texas. Williams Kearns from Lubbock Online wrote,
THE ALUMINUM SHOW [is] one of the most entertaining, fun, let-yourself¬-go-and-join-in and, of course, imaginative experiences one will ever have at the theater. Children were laughing almost immediately.  It may have taken a few more minutes for adults who did not expect to see the stage covered with writhing aluminum tubes, but it wasn’t long before THE ALUMINUM SHOW amazed one and all with fanciful and unexpected visuals. The combination of visuals, music, choreography and puppetry is alone worth the ticket price. Unpredictable and yet connected, THE ALUMINUM SHOW clicks for the entire family.
In the show, talented performers breathe life into aluminum-toned industrial materials to tell the story of a young machine determined to reunite with its parents.  During its travels through a futuristic world ruled by bizarre technology, it finds adventure, excitement, and even a human friend, who does whatever it takes to get it back home in one piece.
THE ALUMINUM SHOW uses recovered materials from industrial factories to build the set, dress the cast, and interact with the audience.  As industrial materials are given new and surprising contexts, then combined with visual effects, lighting manipulations and enchanting music, all senses are on high alert.  With sights and sounds that overcome any language barrier, THE ALUMINUM SHOW is visual entertainment at its best.
Visit www.aluminum-show.com  or www.ppacri.org for the latest information on THE ALUMINUM SHOW.

Post -Accident (Update)

Sooo….we ended up having to take the husband to the Doctor today.  He started vomiting, and complaining of headaches.  We have to get him a CAT scan, now.   Luckily, even though there wasn’t one in the doctor’s office, of course, they have one locally without having to go to the hospital, and we can go later tonight.  The Dr. says it’s most likely not serious, but better to be safe then sorry.
Insurance is not covering rentals or anything like that, either, so that’s fun news.
It’s always something, right?

I’ll keep you all posted, but it does not look good for the FitBloggin conference this weekend.  That’s really disappointing, because I was super looking forward to it.  But, the most important thing is making sure the husband is OK, and then getting the car situation figured out.  It’s selfish feeling sad about missing the conference, but, I do. I’m a bad, bad person.  But, at least it’s just the car and a conference, and my husband will be fine.
OK, that’s it for now.
Have a good one, bloggy buddies  🙂

Back from the scan- he’s OK, just a mild concussion, so that is good.

Twitter Party for a good cause

ecomom just had a contest for one person to win a home makeover.  One of our bloggy buddies was in the final bunch, but didn’t win.  She’s the parent of a special needs little girl who is trying to raise money for hardwood or laminate floors. She is unemployed while she is at home, recovering from back surgery for an injury she received while caring for her daughter. Her daughter, who has special needs that require a whole lot of attention and care, spends most of her time on the floor which makes it vital that she have clean and sanitary flooring but until mom can go back to work there is no way that this family will be able to afford the luxury replacing the flooring.

WHAT: A Fundraiser for the Finalists in the Healthy Home Makeover Contest

WHY: As a small company, it was quite overwhelming for us to read the stories from our Healthy Home Makeover Contest finalists. We wanted to help everyone and felt compelled to do something more. Under the leadership of our CEO, Jody Sherman, and together with our Judges, and Board of Directors, we decided to create an online platform to raise awareness as to the various issues these families face. Brad Damphouse, founder of GoFundMe graciously provided his company’s support.

GET INVOLVED: From allergies to autism and cancers, the chemicals in our environment are negatively affecting our health. You can make a positive difference today, by supporting the families below with donations of whatever you can give, and by making healthy choices for your family everyday.
