A Unique Combination of Culture and Recreation

barcel

Barcelona is an exciting, trendy city on the sunny Mediterranean coast of Spain that attracts beach-lovers, art-lovers and food-lovers from the world over. The city has many budget hotels and hostels that help reduce the amount you spend on accommodation. Sites like Hipmunk will help you compare the prices and locations, so you get a good hotel that is close to the action at an affordable price.

A Variety of Cheap Lodging

Hotels, hostels and rental apartments are available in the city center, and they compete with each other for guests, which is good for you because the prices go down. The Old City and the Gothic Quarter are oldest neighborhoods in the city and attractive to visitors with their cobbled streets and Gothic architecture. The fun continues well into the night, so if you are looking for a quiet resting place, you may not want to be in the middle of the city. However, there are cheap hostels in the area, and the most famous sights including the Barcelona Cathedral and Las Ramblas are within walking distance.

Visitors should also know that star ratings are not the same as in the U.S., so a one-star hotel may be a great deal. The El Raval neighborhood is nearby and undergoing an urban renewal. This is where the university and the MACBA museum are located, and you’ll find some affordable bed and breakfasts in the area.

How to Screen Print

When you think of a great idea, there is no better way to share it than to wear it. However, without the expertise or tools requisite for printing your own shirts, great thoughts frequently never make it farther than your mind. There is a simplified process for creating your artwork in a format that will allow it to become wearable. Once your artwork is in the proper format, you can experiment with colors. Beginners should start out with single-color designs. Next you simply print the art onto transparency film, coat it with a light sensitive emulsion, tape it to a screen and expose it to an ultraviolet light source for about 15 to 30 minutes. At this point, the area where your transparency was taped will wash away from the screen. You are left with your image and an opening around it for ink to pass through onto your shirt. Now you need to align the screens and press, being careful to line up the image layers correctly. Take a stiff squeegee and with good pressure, pull the ink down the screen. It will pass through the open area, leaving the image on the shirt. You are almost done! The final step is to cure your ink with a heat source, such as a heat gun or flash dryer. Take a look at the infographic below for more detailed instructions.
