Everyone knows that my girls are definitely all girl. They love anything pink and all the babies that you can possibly find. Missy Kissy did not disappoint the girls in my house.

My Thoughts:

This doll is absolutely adorable. My girls were so absolutely excited to open her up and start playing with her. Since the moment we were able to receive the doll she has not been out of the sight of my two children. My girls absolutely love tickling her, feeding her, and helping her go to sleep. Changing her outfit is another favorite thing for my girls to do. I have a couple of little girls to buy for this Christmas season, and I can guarantee that I will definitely be looking to JC Toys for sure, and possibly the Missy Kissy doll for those girls as well.

Meet the newest American Girl Doll Maryellen Larkin from the 1950s.

About Maryellen Larkin:

Maryellen Larkin is the latest addition to American Girl’s stable of historical dolls (BeForever line), which includes characters from World War II years, colonial times, The Great Depression, the Civil War, 1970s, and even more.

Maryellen, whose story is set in 1954, is a strawberry blonde doll that loves to draw. She even has many adorable outfits from the 1950s era.

She comes with 1 of the three books in the series that have her navigating the post-war world of the 50’s.

My Thoughts:

My girls were absolutely thrilled when they received the amazing Maryellen Larkin. She was absolutely adorable. My girls loved her outfit- even down to the shoes :). Her hair is adorable in the ponytail and is very soft so it is easy for the girls to style her hair in different styles. The outfit that she is wearing is adorable on her as well as my daughter ;). The additional outfits that are available for Maryellen are also absolutely perfect for the era.

My girls love playing with Maryellen and have a hard time being willing to take turns with her, even though they know that they have to.

American Girl dolls are our favorite. They are great dolls that are made to last many years into the future, and they are made extremely well. Your child can play with the doll daily, it doesn’t need to just sit on the shelf and look pretty.

If you would like to purchase the Maryellen doll, you only have a few more days to purchase her before the year is over. However, there are many other great products that American Girl has to offer. Bratz Study Abroad Doll – Yasmin

My girls absolutely love playing with dolls and barbies. They were incredibly excited to be able to play with Bratz Study Abroad – Yasmin.

My Thoughts:

My daughters were incredibly excited to play with Yasmin. They alternate playing with her with their barbies and just playing with her. They have enjoyed decorating her suitcase. There were so many great accessories for them to play with with her that they could’t have been any happier to be able to do a little bit of everything with Yasmin.

The girls love dressing her up in a combination of the outfits that were provided when they got her.

I think that Yasmin and the other Bratz Dolls in the Study Abroad line would be perfect toys for little girls!

My Friend Cayla – there’s an app for this doll

Welcome to the new age of toys. No longer are there just smart TV’s and phones, now just about anything can be ‘smarter’ with a connection to the internet and some ingenuity.

With this in mind, we are taking a look at My Friend Cayla from Genesis Toys. This doll is 18 inches tall and has a plethora of nifty features some of which include: answering just about any question, telling you a story, playing a game, discussing photos with you, speaking Spanish, and telling you about the weather to name a few of her talents. Cayla is a doll for the digital age- she interfaces with a free app. Which after a quick install onto your smart phone or tablet, which is both iOS and Android supported, it acts as both an interface with Cayla and an internet connection. The phone or tablet then allows you to read a story with Cayla, play games and even go through her photos, all of which work seamlessly and easily at distances up to 30 feet.

Cayla does connect to your device via Bluetooth, so be sure that option is enabled on your phone/tablet. Once Cayla is connected to your device, you can choose for her to use the internet to help answer questions or simply work offline if that is your preference. The more you play with Cayla, the more intuitive play time gets and the better she gets to “know” your child. I especially like the interactive aspect of her speech patterns, where instead of simply talking about candy, (for example) she will ask your child if they like treats, what their favorite is, and then tell them what her favorite candy is. Your child will know when its time for them to talk by the charm on Cayla’s neck lighting up or the heart on the app page turning yellow.

Tickled Pink Adora Doll- A must have baby

My girls are definitely girlie girls. We love to play with babies. Anytime that we are leaving the house to go anywhere or do anything each of my girls have to pick out a baby to bring with them. We have a few dolls from Adora Dolls and have always been incredibly impressed. I must say that our new ToddlerTime doll did not disappoint.

This doll is just amazing as every other product that I have received from Adora Dolls. Everything about this doll is perfect. Her outfit is adorable and provides a great opportunity to vary what she is wearing each day. She is a great size for my daughters to be able to hold onto and take care of. She also has a sweet baby smell to her that is unlike any other brand of dolls that I have ever seen before.

My daughters love playing with their Tickled Pink Toddler. They take turns great and she is always one of the babies that we bring along with us. I can’t wait for their birthdays to come up and get them an additional Toddlertime Doll to add to their collection.

With Father’s Day just a few weeks out, what better topic than dolls. Wait, dads and dolls? Absolutely. Any man (or woman!) who’s got a daughter—and wants to connect with her—really needs to know his way around the world of dolls, since that’s where many girls spend a lot of their time. It’s an amazing way to say, “I love you.” Here are some of our favorites.

They’re a little lighter than most babies, but their skin is super soft, their little noses and toes and fingers are irresistible, and they even smell like real babies. Great for dad to show his daughter how tiny and adorable she was as a baby, but also very effective if that little girl is preparing to be a big sister. In case you hadn’t heard, there’s a new Oz movie coming out. “Legends of Oz,” is based on one of the sequels written by L. Frank Baum, the guy who wrote the original. The first dolls in the series feature Dorothy (alone or with her ever-loyal pup, Toto). Other characters will be along soon. Dad and daughter can go back to Oz to help Dorothy and her friends, and he can even talk about life in the “old” Oz. Ages 3 and up. About $22.99.
