Picture this, it’s a long car trip and your kids are playing on their various electronic devices. Hours of car ride progress. Over the course of the ride you have heard Mario fall into a pit about 1,000 times and an Angry Bird launch 5,000 times at a minimum also you can now sing every note of the song for fruit ninja. What to do, other then turn these devices into road side litter? Headphones of course. But this can be a bit unnerving as well. Once you start to hear the sounds from their head phones now, you know the sound is up way too high and damage is being done to little ears which were fine just moments ago. The cheap ones are just that- cheap. You get what you pay for, and they don’t last nor do they have great volume control. Why not upgrade your pair of headphones? There is a great set of earphones (that go into the ear canal) made by ETYKids that is also very easy to travel with.

Mott’s New Juice Line
This blog post is part of a paid SocialMoms and Mott’s blogging program. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.
Juice has long been seen as a healthy way to get some liquids in your kids. Kids love juice because it’s sweet, and parents like it because it comes from fruit. Both of these assumptions are true most times, but sometimes the fruit in juice drinks isn’t really there and there is more sugar than anything else. Keep an eye on your juice and juice drinks in order to differentiate between the haves and the have nots.
A few new juice drinks by Mott’s are good options to pick for your kids beverages. They are Mott’s Fruit Punch Rush and Mott’s Wild Grape Surge. There are many reasons some of which are: These juice drinks contain 40% less sugar* than fruit juices, contain no artificial sweeteners, are made from real fruit juices, and contain 100% daily value for vitamin C. Flavorwise Wild Grape Surge and Fruit Punch Rush are perfect, sweet and fruity without being too sweet either. This doesn’t mean the sweetness is toned down and diminished because of the reduction in sugar; the juice drink is just as sweet as other juice drinks and feels twice as good giving to your little ones. My personal favorite is Fruit Punch Rush, there are three different juices blended together to make a wonderful flavor that satisfies and quenches your thirst.
Tips for Traveling with Young Children
Perhaps those who find it most difficult to take vacations and travel in general are parents of young children. These people face a variety of challenges, such as dealing with naptimes while traveling, bringing mountains of baby supplies, checking additional luggage and entertaining their children in small, confined spaces. Thankfully, there are several helpful tips that can make travel easier for these harried adults who are in desperate need of a little downtime.
One of the most important things that parents can do is be organized. Parents should consider the length of the drive or the time of the flight before committing to a set of travel plans. In general, it is easier for very young children to fly rather than drive because they will not be confined for such long periods. Most domestic flights are five hours or less, and airline passengers can unbuckle their seatbelts and move about the cabin for short times. Layovers also provide time for children to burn off energy and to get a snack and use the bathroom. Parents should plan ahead by making lists of things to pack and by being sure to bring extra clothes, diapers and snacks.
Parents should find simple, inexpensive ways to keep their children entertained. If they have the money and the space, they could consider purchasing simple, inexpensive gifts to give their children for each day of travel. For example, Parents.com recommends coloring books and crayons, a small car, a new book or an electronic game. These gifts will provide children with something to look forward to and will provide hours of fun each day. Parents can also come up with fun travel games, such as I Spy.
Traveling by air can bring its own set of problems. Babies and toddlers may really struggle with the change in air pressure. Parents can try to give infants a bottle or toddlers a sippy cup to drink from during takeoffs and landings. Children may also want their favorite stuffed animals or blankets if they are not used to flying because they may be scared. Parents should consider loading a few movies onto their tablets that can be watched in-flight.

Rabbids – Yeah They Are
Disclosure: The below was provided for me in order to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own and honest. I am disclosing this in accordance to FTC Guidelines. Please see “Disclose” tab for more information.
Rabbids are loud, irritating, and invading. They have invaded video games for years starting with Rayman Raving Rabbids. The Rabbids burst onto the scene with mini games and insanity. The main idea behind the Rabbids is vicious and unintelligent.
Jumping off the screen into the toy box is the line from Mcfarlane Toys, Rabbids Invasion. The Rabbids are available in many forms, plush, sound blaster, sound and action figure, and mini figures. Today we are looking at the sound blaster and the sound and action figures.First up is the sound blaster. This toy is shaped like a plunger gun, but has a Rabbid sticking out of the front of it. The blaster has 15 Rabbid sounds including the famous Bwah and flatulence as well as burps and other fun bodily functions, all of which make kids of all ages giggle. (From grown men to little ones.) The toy itself is loud and irritating, but that is kind of the point with Rabbids, so it hits its mark quite well.

Why You Should Travel With a PaddlePak
We travel a lot. My son loves to take his own backpack with him, although it usually ends up being carried by mommy. The first good thing about this backpack is that he likes to carry it- the Paddlepak Backpacks are adorable and lightweight. The next most awesome thing about them is that they are water resistant- so when junior or the little miss spills all over it in the car or plane, the inside contents are safe.
We have recently taken several trips with the PaddlePak backpacks, and will be using them as often as possible. My son used his backpack at the pool, the beach, and island hopping on a Caribbean cruise. The packs weathered the use with no problems, and did well on the plane and boat rides as well to carry snacks and toys.
While I think these bags are perfect for beach and pool use, they are great for everyday travel as well. Going to grandma’s? Taking a road trip? Maybe just going to the mall and need something to play with with someone has a try on party. Pack up a few things into the Paddlepak, and move along. There is room in the tails of the packs to store “treasures” like rocks and shells, or even your room card. Kids love to put “stuff in stuff'” as we all well know, and it’s easy to find in the tail. If your child still uses a pacifier, there is a spot on the padded shoulder straps to connect it to as well so you won’t lose it (how gross, finding it on an airport or restaurant floor!)
