Sock ‘N Boots- Cute New #Kids #Book coming out!

Sock n Boots are best friends and the stars of the Sock n Boots book series. They are “the two most loveable pieces of footwear around”.

The Sock n Boots characters and stories were created to foster a love of reading at a young age and to teach young children valuable life lessons. The stories stimulate positive thinking, while building a bond between parents and children, as well as teachers and students.

The goal of the books is to transform story time into an interactive bonding time.

Each Sock n Boots story begins with a question. Then through the antics of the characters, a lesson is taught that answers the question. Once the story is finished the question is posed again which opens the door for additional discussion and interaction.

We hope that children, as well as adults, grow to love the Sock and Boots characters and the stories they tell. A love of reading starts at a young age and Sock n Boots are on a mission to make sure that children associate fun with reading, and learn valuable life lessons along the way.

About the Characters
Sock is the younger and more mischievous of the pair. He is a playful and very emotional little guy. He is quick to look for fun but often finds trouble instead. It’s not uncommon to see him shed a tear or two when things get tough. His pal Boots always seems to be there to make him feel better and get him out of trouble.
The smartest little Boot you’ll ever get to know. He’s a little wiser than his younger friend Sock which makes them fit so well together. He’s all for fun but manages to keep a level head. Boots has a sweet tooth and can’t resist a nice big piece of chocolate cake. He is everything a best friend is supposed to be.
For more information on Sock n Books go to: www.socknboots.com

Or find us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/SockandBoots

My son loves this book- we call him Boots and Toots, I don’t even remember how that started (and he wants me to change his bloggy name to Boots, LOL- I told him maybe….)
A cute book about friendship is always a great bedtime story.  There are three stories, or you can purchase a  Sock n Boots compilation book with all three stories with all three stories in it.  We have feelings week coming up at the Pre-K and I think the kids will really enjoy this one.  Have fun, and happy reading!

Naomi and Nicole garments for women- review and #contest @NaomiandNicole

Have you ever had one of “those days”, where no matter what you put on, your undergarments are not helping your situation? Perhaps you are showing a roll or two you wish you weren’t, a panty line, etc?  Not that I personally ever have days like that!  (cough, cough)

OK, so I do.  Recently, in fact, and then I remembered- I have some beautiful undergarments from Naomi & Nicole Intimates that help “smooth things out” so to speak.  😉
Have you ever visited http://www.cupidintimates.com?  If not- I suggest that you check it out.  With over 80 years of making women’s clothing, they know what they are doing.  Lovely, functional, and also PRACTICAL- you can wash most things in the washing machine, with only very few exceptions.

There are a variety of colors and styles to choose from, so no matter what outfit you are trying to “match” or what body part you want to smooth out or shape- Naomi & Nicole will have that perfect piece.  Or pieces!
So- ok, yes, you can read all about them on their site- but how do they hold up???
Nicely!  I am happy to say that both of my “intimate wear” garments survived the flood.  Why?  Because they were with me in Ohio, and as you know I rushed home when I heard the storm was coming, making it back just hours before it hit.

They are soft and not constricting, which I so hate and will not continue to wear things I am not comfortable in. Fashion, shmash-ion.  If it hurts, I’m not wearing it!  LOL.  They also have a fabulous guarantee– only made by those that are sure about and can stand by their product, true?

Nope- not me, hehehe.  None of you want to see that one!  Website images to the rescue of my dear readers, who would love to keep their eyesight!  🙂
While I didn’t do yoga in these Microfiber Highcut panties, I do have to say they didn’t “show” through my skirt or shorts, and that they are indeed comfortable and didn’t ride up.  Here is some product information for you-

“This waistline panty will stay in place all day long, even while exercising. It’s so lightweight you’ll forget you’re wearing it. Our breathable Wonderful Edge® silicone finish, placed at the legs, prevents wedgies and eliminates VPLs. This revolutionary panty won’t ride up and will remain invisible under your clothes.”

I liked them so much, that I am going to try out a few new pairs from the site.  I have to get new underwear (Thanks, Irene!) anyway, so I thought I would get a few nice ones from Naomi & Nicole since I know I like them, and try a few other styles out.

Nice, yes?  No matter what size your chest is, you can fit into this shaper.  Best part?  It shapes your thighs, too!  Yippeee!!!!
I love that it’s soft, and shapes and smooths instead of strapping you in and keeping you from sitting and inhaling, UGH.  With a chest my size, it can make shopping for undergarments (and everything else!) difficult, so I really appreciate this open chested idea.
Here is the product description-

“This single-ply, lightweight garment is made of high-modulus Tactel® fabric designed to provide a smooth look for all-day wear. Wonderful Edge® at the leg holds the garment in place. Wear it with your own bra for a custom fit. Choose it for tummy control, waist shaping, and thigh control.”

Again- there is a reason that these were with me!  I wanted to look nice in my dresses when I was meeting people, and not only did I look nice- but I felt confidant, and that’s really half the battle anyway.

One of you will win one panty and one shapewear item 🙂

Calico Critters- Fun Kids Toy

Did you have Calico Critters when you were a kid?  I did- I think I had rabbits.  Tan ones.  I saw Calico Critters in Toys R Us a few months ago, and thought that my kids would like them, maybe for the holidays.  How cute are they?  As you know, Little Man loves things that are “mommy and baby” or that go in sets- so he loved playing with these, as did Kamikaze.

The clothing is a little bit hard to get on the Critters, but other then that- playtime has been fun!  The set comes with a little toy for the baby bear, which my son particularly likes (Aw, mommy!  The baby gets a toy!)
Kamikaze is pretty good with doll clothes, so she was able to get them on and off without too much trouble.  Little Man, at barely four, not so much.   They both loved that it came with a whole array of fun things to do.

Includes: Margaret and Halley critters, 2 dresses, 2 mannequins, hat, handbag, hand mirror, 2 headbands, baby toy and wall portrait

Since it had all these fun items that came with the Calico Critters Margaret and Halley’s Shop Play Set, it made for a fun playtime immediately, and they also are the same size as lots of other toys, so they will fit into some other playsets, carriages, cars, busses, etc- so your child can play with them in toys they already have, too.  For example- Little put Baby Halley into a little stroller and had Mommy Margaret push her around, and then they took the bus to the Farmer’s Market and to ride a pony.

Here is a little product description as well-

“Mother Margaret and Baby Halley go shopping with the Calico Critters Margaret and Halley’s Dress Shop Play Set! The Calico Critters Dress Shop Play Set includes the Critters Margaret and Halley, as they shop for dresses for the special events in Cloverleaf Corners! To help them find something fancy to wear, the Calico Critters Margaret and Halley’s Dress Shop Play Set includes 2 dresses, 2 mannequins, hat, handbag, hand mirror, 2 headbands, wall portrait and baby toy for awesome pretend play! Margaret and Halley will be dressed to impress when they are done!”
This is a fun toy, and would be a hit with younger kids of either gender (but not babies! The parts are too small) or pretty much any girl, in my opinion.  My son is 4 and loves to play mommy and baby, and also loves to play with animals, so I think its great for boys who are still young or who like gentle play as well.  Boys do have that loving, nurturing side of them as well, which we can forget.  It’s great to let them develop that if they choose to.

You can order Calico Critters at Growing Tree Toys – there is even an option for gift wrap if you are sending a holiday or birthday present.  Feel free to follow them on Facebook and Twitter for updates- and you can also sign up for Growing Trees Toys email updates.  Have fun shopping  🙂

New Facebook- How to see Posts from your Favorite Bloggers! (Cough) LOL

I spent the past few days trying to figure out how to “fix” this problem, that you guys can’t see my posts now.  Which is a MAJOR bummer- and then I came across this wonderful post from Deals 4 Dummies– Jeana said I could cross post, since I am a major dope and would never have been able to explain it so well- THANKS JEANA!!  Of course, her page is cited- so if you want to see Have Sippy Will Travel’s posts, just look for that page where it says Deals 4 Dummies.  If you are a fan for BOTH pages- do them both and you will see them all  🙂

I can’t wait to have you back and seeing my posts.  I hope this helps!

Hi all! So I’m sure you all have noticed the recent Facebook changes. I really didn’t think much about them until I realized that today, I had been blogging my little heart out and that I haven’t gotten very much reaction from you guys. I had a room full of crickets.  And it didn’t feel nice :(
I started to get a little sad, and then I realized that many of you have probably been MISSING all the deals I have been posting lately because of those new Facebook changes!!  Ack!!  What in the world am I doing slaving away at my computer all day finding you deals and freebies if you are going to MISS them?!??!
If you want to make sure you aren’t missing out on my deal feed on Facebook, I need you guys to do something for me really quick.
Don’t worry – it won’t hurt :)

  1. In Facebook, click on the down arrow in the upper right hand corner (next to your name) and choose “Account Settings”.
  2. Now choose “notifications” on the left side menu.
  3. UNCHECK the “email frequency”.  You want it to be BLANK like the picture above. (thanks, Freebie Corner)
  4. Now, go to your Facebook Home Page
  5. In that center column is your news feed.  I need you to scroll down until you find one from me.  It doesn’t matter which one, just find one.
  6. Now hover your mouse over the top right corner until this little blue arrow appears.  Click it and choose the first option “Mark as Top Story“.

Ok so what you have just done is told Facebook

  1. Leave my notifications alone and show me everything
  2. HEY – I want to see my deals from Crazy Coupon Mommy – Quit hiding them from me!!!

So from now on, you should start to see the deals again.  Supposedly FB “learns” what you like by your actions so this may take a while to get through.  If you want to make sure it happens faster – then do this every time you see a post from me and that will make sure they get the hint!!
Another way to make sure you never miss a deal from your favorite coupon blogs on Facebook is to Make a List. This is a new feature and my friend over at My CNY Mommy made a great video tutorial on how to do it – have a looksey!
