Today we are featuring Body Rolling. Body Rolling is a technique taught by Yamuna, where you yourself are the therapist and your tool to help you work your body into alignment is a ball. The ball provides traction, movement and release. Body rolling is a form of therepy which follows the techniques of Yamuna Body Logic.
Yamuna Body Logic is a way of aligning your muscles and skeletal system in such way where pain is relieved and stress dissolves. The interesting part of this is there is an emphasis on self-reliance. That is after a few initial visits you are taught how to align yourself. This is of course after an expert has properly diagnosed and assessed your body. Body Logic can improve posture, increase range of motion, align all the parts of the body, increase muscle tone, increase flexibility, and improve organ functions.
“Yamuna Body Logic creates space between muscle and bone, allowing the body’s perfect circuitry to fire in logical and correct order. This, in turn, allows the body as a whole to perform optimally.”
I clench and grind my teeth at night, and found this to be interesting- “Chewing, grinding and clenching create enormous stress in the teeth and gums and TMJ. Here is how to take the impact out of the lower gums and teeth.” (See video below)
Body Rolling comes into play as a way to treat the body one’s self. After being evaluated each patient is taught proper Body Rolling techniques and once mastered are able to heal themselves. After extensive learning, you can even share this new found skill with others as well.
This school of thought reminds me a bit of a mix of yoga, Eastern Massage and Chiropractic treatments all mixed into one. Where instead of treating each portion of the body as separate the body is treated as a whole. The Yamuna Body Logic process is very interesting and has a lot of promise. After reading a few testimonials it seems like a great way to treat pain and discomfort without expensive and dangerous prescriptions and drugs.

My favorite way to stay in shape is with Zumba. I use both DVD’s and sometimes do Zumba with my daughter, who’s a Zumba instructor. I like to add variety to my workouts, though, and would enjoy adding some new yoga exercises.
