New Game Coming Out

This is a post on behalf of Square Shooters, it is a pre-written post done by them- I am posting it in case you are interested  🙂

The exciting new dice game labeled as “amazing” and “mind-blowing” by the National Parenting Center will be challenging guests at Origins Game Fair in Columbus, OH with a contest to win free games. Origins runs from June 23 – June 26, 2011 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Heartland Consumer Products is bringing Square Shooters® to Origins for the first time, and is unveiling its “That’s How I Roll!TM” challenge to game players (www.thatshowirolldice.com). Guests can play a hand of Square Shooters® and try to win a free game set, or they can be filmed while showing off their special rolling style and win more free stuff. The funnier, sillier, or more dramatic the style, the better!

Heartland, the Cleveland-based manufacturer of high quality playing cards including the popular Vegas® brand, introduced its Square Shooters® game (www.squareshooters.com) in February at the 2011 International Toy Fair held in New York City. The game impressed toy buyers from both mass and specialty retailers around the U.S., and Heartland immediately went into mass production to meet the demand.

Heartland’s President and CEO, Tom Donelan, said, “We’re sovery excited to have all of the game enthusiasts at Origins have a chance to try Square Shooters®.. It’ll be a great preview of exclusive option for them to have a chance to play and get a copy of the game exclusively beforebecause we are just getting ready to ship it to the major toy, game and mass market department stores for the Fall and holiday sales seasons.”

Amber Dickens, Heartland’s Marketing Director, added, “We knew that the game industry was embracing the game when we performed our testing and showed the game at different trade shows, but we were still thrilled that Square Shooters® earned such incredible endorsements from the most prestigious game play authorities. The game won the 2010 Best Picks of new products from Dr. Toy and the 2011 Seal of Approval from The National Parenting Center (TNPC).”

”The game’s versatility has been the key,” Donelan explained. “Parents know that it can bring different ages and generations together. It can be as simple as, but it also a matching game for kids, and then a game of chance for adults. It plays well at both the kitchen table and the party table.”

Square Shooters® is more than just one great game. It’s a full deck of cards printed on dice. When you’re done playing with the main feature of the game, you can use the patented dice to endlessly play a dice version of other card games like rummy, 21 and poker.

Heartland licensed Square Shooters from the game’s inventor, Carmelyn Calvert, who commented, “People love card games. People love dice games. The idea to put them together was simple, but I was thrilled to find that the layout could be arranged to make them suitable to play so many card games.”

Square Shooters (MSRP $12.99/Basic Set and $19.99/Deluxe Set) is designed for one or more players ages 8 and up. The game is available at Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and many independent toy/game retailers throughout the summer travel season.

Fathers Believe that the Demands of Their Jobs Interfere with Their Ability to be Good Parents

New National Survey Commissioned by Care.com Finds a Third of Working Fathers Believe that the Demands of Their Jobs Interfere with Their Ability to be Good Parents; Fathers Twice as Likely to Feel this way as Mothers
Nearly Half (48 Percent) of Working Parents with Young Children Believe That Spending Time with the Family can Impact their Professional Development
Waltham, MA (June 10, 2011) – Perhaps this Father’s Day (Sunday, June 19), we should give dads a break rather than a new tie.  According to a new national survey commissioned by Care.com (http://www.care.com), one third (33 percent) of working fathers (compared to 15 percent of working mothers) believe that the demands of their jobs interfere with their ability to be good fathers.
Care.com, the premier source of trustworthy family care options, including profiles of hundreds of thousands of babysitters, nannies, and senior caregivers, found in its survey that nearly half (48 percent) of working parents with children younger than 12 agree that choosing to spend more time with the family can impact their professional development
The survey also revealed that nearly half (48 percent) of working parents with children younger than 12 agree that choosing to spend more time with the family can impact their professional development.
While seventy percent of employed people reveal that daily distractions prevent them from getting work done during the workday, three in ten (30 percent) of working parents with children under 12 years old are often distracted at work by a childcare issue, such as a sick child.
“We were surprised to learn that fathers are twice as likely as mothers to feel that the demands of their jobs are interfering with their ability to be good parents,” said Sheila Marcelo, Founder and CEO of Care.com.  “More parents today – men and women – feel the demands of work enter into their personal lives, and that’s creating a great deal of anxiety.  We believe that employers need to address these sentiments, and provide solutions to decrease distractions, in order to maintain focus among the workforce.”
This report presents the findings of two telephone surveys conducted among a national probability sample of 2,018 adults, men and women 18 years of age and older. Interviewing for this CARAVAN®survey was completed by ORC International during the period of May 5-9, 2011.

Win Playmobil Playset

Playmobil is an awesome brand if you like to have fun with easy, ready made sets, that come in all sorts of varieties so that there is something for everyone.  Oh- that has to be pretty much every single person on the planet, right?  SO, it’s just awesome!
I love playsets– they are already ready, with everything that you need to get down and play.  No endless shopping trips for each figure, each accessory.  If you want to build a HUGE playset, that’s fine too- because you can add them on and make a metropolis of playsets in the same theme.  Good news?  They are each their own set, so you can add or not.  You can add all or add just one- you can do whatever you want.  It’s just easy!

They are good for travel and take-along as well, since they come in sets.  We put this cute  4843Treasure Hunter´s Camp with Giant Snake  into a little backpack, and along it comes to grandma’s!  Something else I love?  When you are on the site, and looking at a set- it gives you others that are similar or are part of the same theme on the side.  I find that helpful.  This one reminds me of Indiana Jones- check out the line of toys that are themed with it- they really do make you want to crack a bullwhip, LOL.  I like that they also included a girl figure- I dislike it when they make all the figures boys, give the girls something, too!  🙂
Little Man liked the giant snake so much that we used it as a jumping board to teach him about snakes, frogs, and other creepy crawlies.  This led to a fun morning at the library!  He now knows that not all snakes have rattles, LOL, and that they lay eggs.  It’s a good start for a 3 year old!
I also took out books of places that have “ruins” (temples, Mayan and Greek sites, etc) and showed him places that used to be thriving, where currently people explore and dig for history.  He’s a little young, so I kept if brief- a few sentences and mostly photos- but I hope it was a building block for both a love of history (like his momma!) and a love of travel.

One of you will win this same set!

Win VODA Swim- enhance your body

Voda swimwear makes bikinis, string bikinis, and two versions of one piece bathing suits in sizes S, M, and L.   I am going to start you off with some basic info on Voda, and then move on to the review  🙂

Voda Swim is a new concept in bikini design. The magic is in a new patent pending Envy Push Up bikini top created by international model Yulia. Where ordinary bikini cups sag and wrinkle, Voda Swim bikini tops create perfect bikini breasts! Finding a bikini top that fits is a frustrating, disappointing experience. That’s why a young fashion model and avid beach lover decided it was time to rethink that whole bikini thing. “I spend a lot of time at the beach, but I was always self-conscious about my swimsuit. Whenever I put on a bikini, it looked baggy and I looked shapeless. The bikini tops didn’t provide any lift or contouring, and made my breasts look non-existent.”

Taking it as a personal challenge, Yulia and her husband Dustin spent many long nights working on high-fashion bikini designs that would make the most of the smallest assets. The secret is in the fit and a little hidden magic in the form of a soft and pliant enhancer that cups the breast, giving a full, rounded contour, with a natural bouncy movement. The cup shape insures a perfect fit providing support and shaping. The Envy Push Up top visually increases the bust size by up to two cup sizes and provides great lift and support! The curves and contours are utterly natural, the lift and cleavage are flawless.

The Envy Push Up line by Voda Swim, the first swim suit line designed especially to flatter small-breasted women or to shape breasts by providing lift and support, has the kind of cutting edge style that satisfies the most demanding fashionista. Beyond their good looks, Voda Swim suits are designed to take on any beachside activity from sunbathing to surfing to volleyball. ”

I reviewed the Breeze Envy Push Up® One Piece in size L, and YAY because I can finally fit into a Large!  LOL.  Well…most of me could  🙂

These bathing suits were not made for ladies like me with large chests, sooooo…….one of my best friends is going to be the model.  My pictures are NOT family friendly, LOL.  The suit was so pretty, I was sorry to see it go- but really happy for my friend, who needed a new bathing suit.  I was hoping for the “shaping” aspect of the bathing suit- but my girlfriend looks fantastic!
