Walgreens trip

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

We recently took a trip to Walgreens to grab some vitamins and supplements.  We have to keep healthy you know.  Well when we got there first of all the store was very clean and the employees were super helpful.  We found our way to our destination quite easily.  The daily multi-vitamin aisle, in said aisle there are lots to chose from.  All of which have this or that added to them to boost this or that.  It came down to Walgreens Gold Seal Multiple Vitamins Dietary Supplement Tablets or another well known brand.  When comparing the ingredients they were just about the same, the first 15 ingredients were spot on, from there it varied a little bit.  The selling point in terms of which we would actually purchase would be the price.  The Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products was actually quite a bit cheaper (almost $5 cheaper!)  Yay for frugality!!!!I The hubs thought there was no way these were the same so, we went and asked the pharmacist.  Even they said they have the same active ingredients and they would actually suggest getting the Walgreens brand because, “…there’s our guarantee…” meaning- if you don’t like it, return it.  Sounded good to me, so that is the one we went with.  So far the vitamins are working well, they give you that little pep of nutrients when you know you need them in a draining day. Walgreens is currently running a few promotions, one of which is the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™ .  Which helps the consumer better them selves health wise with education, and prevention.

Another item of note is right now many of those wonderful bloggers are holding giveaways for 120x30_WalgrensTransparentLogo gift cards. giveaways Awesome!

Cryo-Cell Services

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of CryoCell International for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Cryo-Cell is a service where umbilical cord blood from when your newborn baby is saved, instead of gotten rid of as medical waste and cryogenicly stored to preserve is properties as a sort of insurance incase of emergencies, this cord blood could be used to help keep your child and even their siblings from getting quite sick in very bad scenarios.  One of which could be, I don’t even want to say it, any treatment where chemotherapy is needed.  In these treatments often times the immune system is heavily damaged and with cord blood, the immune system can get a recharge and help the healing process quicken.  Collection of the blood is painless to all involved (child and mother) and is done by the doctor and the facility where you plan on giving birth.  There are step by step instructions available for mothers and an easy kit to bring along when the big day finally comes.

This may seem like something that is from the future and will be very expensive but it would actually cost as little as $3 a week.  Not bad  at all.  AND if you sign up during there current promotion you also receives a FREE Baby Jogger City Mini, jogging stroller.  Sign up today 🙂 enroll today

Old Mother Hubbard

Old Mother Hubbard, to make up for starving her dog in the nursery rhyme, I suppose- has begun making dog treats!  They started baking about 80 years ago and has been baking since in Gloucester, MA.  They started by making snacks for fishermen but quickly found another hard working hungry critter, the dog.  Old Mother Hubbard uses all natural wholesome ingredients including: chicken, cheddar cheese, apples, carrots, sweet potatoes and oatmeal.  Sounds good enough to eat.  The real test comes with the taste test.  First we try Skin & Coat, this snack helps your dog have healthy skin and fur, by providing 1.75% of Omega 6 and 0.5% of Omega 3 fatty acids.  Chaac absolutely loved them.  He did that lovely drool thing- what, that’s not enticing?  So you know he liked them extra!   Next up we were going to do some tricks so we tried Soft & Chewy Bitz Liver Recipe.  What I liked about these were you can fit a pretty good amount of them in your pocket.  These are perfect for teaching that old dog new tricks or keeping that young canine in line.  Plus- what dog doesn’t deserve a good treat now and then?  They do put up with us annoying humans, after all, LOL.  If it is also good for them- why not?

Overall both Chaac and I liked these treats, although I will be honest I- did not taste them.

Help Find Missing Girl

The parents of a missing Indiana University college student from Westchester pleaded for their daughter’s safe return in emotional television appearances Wednesday.
“To that one person that has the answer to this mystery and this puzzle, bring Lauren back. Let us know where she is,” Charlene Spierer said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
“I am pleading with that one person, because there is one person there that knows,” she said while fighting back tears.
Her daughter, Lauren Spierer, vanished just a few blocks from her apartment near Indiana University early Friday morning after a night out at a bar with friends.
The 20-year-old Westchester native was last seen walking home barefoot from a friend’s apartment at around 4:30 a.m.

BossyPants

I just finished reading BossyPants, by Tina Fey.  I have to say, I was kind of disappointed.  I am a big fan of hers- from the Weekend Update (and SNL as a whole, haha) to 30 Rock- I really like her work.  She is really funny, speaks for the equality of woman and against gender politics/double standards, and she doesn’t do insane things like so many media personalities do to get attention, either.  But this book…seemed kind of more like a rough draft then a finished version, like it wasn’t “ready” yet.  While it was funny, and gave a (small) bit of background on Tiny Fey, there just wasn’t much substance to it.  No great stories of funny or famous people, or funny or odd things she did on her way to fame.  Ok, maybe she didn’t want to drop names and was being really “PC” so as not to tick anyone off.  No late night work-related drama or fun times.  It wasn’t an autobiography- there wasn’t enough “her” in there.  She seems intensely private- which is fine, but then put something else in the book!  She talked about being friends with some gay people in High School more then any other topic, and that she liked Amy Pohler alot.  But no fun Amy Poler and Tiny Fey stories or adventures, quips….anything.   Her dad is a “presence” and she thinks Sarah Palin is a big Media Star who is better looking then herself.  She talks down about herself a lot.  Which (while I get it- she doesn’t want to sound snobby) is annoying as well.  That’s basically the book.   I kept waiting for “the good part”.  It was totally readable, and interesting and all that jazz- but…meh.  Nah.  Totally “eh” and disappointing- for such a funny lady, what the heck, Tina Fey?

Here is some info about the book, as well-
“Before Liz Lemon, before “Weekend Update,” before “Sarah Palin,” Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.

She has seen both these dreams come true.

At last, Tina Fey’s story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon — from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.

Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we’ve all suspected: you’re no one until someone calls you bossy.

Cardio Barre- weight loss and toning

I have a secret weapon. I do.
So, I have been talking about my weight loss, and I am still trying to lose about 30 more pounds. Since January, as you know, I have lost just over 22 lbs. Lately I have been posting about more things that I have been doing, using, and posting progress pictures. But- this is (so far) my #1.
The most fantastic weight loss and toning product- I love it so much. It’s called Cardio Barre!

I have been using it at least twice a week since February. It is not so easy, though! You will have to work. It’s not wild and bombastic, like some of those over the top (for me) videos you see- flying all over the place and rolling all about. BUT- it is really, really difficult, because it works muscles you may not often use, and you will work on your balance as well. Even if you do yoga, like me- it’s still a new bunch of movements, and you may have trouble finding your center at first. Take your time! I totally didn’t do the whole video the first few times, and I still don’t look graceful, LOL.
All the people in the video are ballet dancers- and look it. I HATE THAT! I wish fitness producers used more “real” people instead of perfect ones, it always makes me feel inferior and kind of puts me off. The good news? Even though you may not be a size 0- you can do this. You can! I was a size 16 when I started. Yep! I’m a real person. I have never taken a dance class, either. Not even as a kid.
I don’t have a perfect body. But, I want to have a body that is perfect for me, that I am happy with. My goal is not to be a size 0. I like to eat. 🙂 And I don’t want to be hungry and cranky all the time, LOL.
I just want to look and feel good!
