HexBugs are back and they brought a new friend- the Scarab. The Scarab is a six-legged, battery operated bug which has bug like behavior patterns and can flip itself over when upside down. Little Man thoroughly enjoys this one. It moves at a very quick pace, much quicker then the other HexBugs we have seen. Although it doesn’t seem as complex as the larva, the Scarab is still quite interesting and a very smart robot.
It will skitter and run around, and when met with an obstacle it moves with such speed it actually bounces about and [Read more…]

One of the best educational games that you can teach your child on how to use correctly is the CookieCoo Dancing Star. This gaming application is best described as a rhythm game where it teaches your kid how to use their eyes, ears and hands at the same time while following the beat of the music. Teaching your child coordination while at a young age can help them a lot especially during their developmental stage. However, sticking with conventional tools such as bricks and other toys may just bore them silly. What you need is to introduce a bit of music and quirky characters that not only help stimulate their eyes and ears but also stimulate their brain to function easily which is exactly what you can get out of CookieCoo Dancing Star.
Imagine a digital game that is packed with strong visual representations of various kooky characters that kids can’t help but love as well as jolly tunes that they can sing and dance to all rolled into one. Add to this concoction different types of instruments that your kids need to tap in time with the musical note falling on the instrument. The combination of beat, rhythm and profusion of colors, sounds and visual graphics will certainly stimulate your kids’ minds as [Read more…]

What happened to Cooler, Bight Eyes, and those loveable pups from the 80’s? I’d like to think they all got adopted, LOL. I have not seen the DVD yet, it just got here yesterday. But I did see an episode on the Hb network with Little Man, and it’s cute and lets kids know- shelter dogs need love, too!
The Pound Puppies are a team of fearless dogs whose sworn mission is to [Read more…]
Grenadilla is a new group formed by Debbie Lan. Grenadilla is a 6 person kwela based music ensemble. Kwela hails from Sough Africa and is upbeat, joyful and bubbly.
This music is perfect for families. It is happy and upbeat but not too childish where the music is irritatingly repetitive. Kwela is unlike the pop or rock based family music CDs out there, it has a worldly feel that is upbeat and fun.
Coming out on March 6th is Grenadilla’s second album, Can’t Wait. The music is of the same style as their previous release, with songs like Sunday Afternoon, and I like to Walk the songs are perfect for families and will get everyone humming along. Even if you aren’t a big fan of international music, this album is still fun.
Exposing children to a wide range of music of all genres, starting at young age is tremendously important and will help them develop a sense of culture and awareness that [Read more…]
