Bunny Peek A Boo-Great Kids Game

In our house, we are all about games. My kids will seriously do just about anything if I make it into a game, which is absolutely wonderful for me. We even love when we get to have our special game nights. I am always on the look out for new games that we can add to our wonderful game nights. Bunny Peek a Boo will be a new regular for us, even if it is meant to be a 1 person game.

Eagle Creek – Great Travel Gear

Baggage comes in different shapes and sizes, but the most fun form of baggage is the kind you pack up and go on a trip with. Lets take a look at some of the new bags from Eagle Creek.

Check out the latest bag by Eagle Creek, the Tarmac AWD 22. The Tarmac sports 360 degree dynamic wheels which are strong and sturdy. The bag itself is well built and comes with a warranty that covers everything. No matter the cause, the bag will be replaced to repairs by the manufacturer.

The bag has a ton of extras with it. Some of the features are a coat keeper, porter key bottle opener and attached piggyback clip. The coat keeper is a very good idea. On most trips, a sweater or jacket should be brought along just in case the flight is chilly or your destination is a big cooler then expected. This clip helps keep your hands free and your jacket with you all the way to your destination instead of left on a bench or in the back of a taxi.

I’m all about good necklaces that you can wear on a daily basis. Occasionally I really want a necklace that just matches my outfit, but a lot of the time I want one I can wear on any given day. Kohl’s for Back-to-School

Back to School season is upon us, and like many parents, there is so much I needed to pick up for my fella before he goes back. One of my favorite places to shop is Kohl’s. They carry a huge selection in my local store, and what I can’t find in store, I can easily find online (or just skip it and online shop if I am feeling lazy, LOL). Sometimes, I just don’t feel like bringing him with me to the store. And the allure of 2 am shopping is always a draw to me….

My little dude needs to wear khaki pants to school this year, so that was one of the first things we were looking at. An easy choice were the Chaps Flat-Front Twill School Uniform Pants, which were originally $30 and are now on sale, a bonus 🙂 They look and feel good, and are sturdy (I hate buying new everything in December because it wears out, UGH).

Not only are they healthy but they are fun, delighting kids with plenty of variety to choose from.

Right away the cookbook is filled with really easy recipes. All of which can be made fast, are kid friendly this means mostly that not only are they eye catching, but in small portions that pertain to kids. There are different parts to the book, which include the sandwich area, rolls, pita pockets, rolls. gems wraps and buns. You have sidekicks or nibbles ( snacks) dips and spread as well as a section on how to cook perfect sushi rice. Rice is used in more than half of the recipe which also use what is called Gem Wraps. An all-natural wrap made from fruit and vegetable puree. Side note they are not good as a standalone they are meant to eat using the recipes in the cookbook in chapter four. Trust me on this.

New Book – Foreign Devil Girl in Hong Kong by Ruth Epp

Foreign Devil Girl in Hong Kong by Ruth Epp intertwines a quick history lesson with immersion into a new culture that will provide entertainment for all ages.

About the book- Illustrating the difficulties of life as a lone “foreign devil girl,” Epp explains life in the British colony of Hong Kong during 1959. Early in 1959, Ruth left her home on the South Dakota prairies and traveled by cargo ship to Hong Kong, on the south coast of China. She was answering a call from God. The ship’s officers smiled in amusement and asked, “What do you think a twenty-two-year-old girl like you can do in Hong Kong?” She thought she knew—until she found herself a “foreign devil girl” surrounded by poor working class people, whose language, culture, and life experiences were totally foreign to her. God was her only confidante and friend as she struggled to learn how to fulfill her mission. Cantonese is one of the most difficult Chinese dialects to learn, and her “teacher” didn’t know a word of English. Her attempts to speak sometimes provoked outbursts of hilarious laughter. Such experiences showed her some surprising things about herself and increased her determination to learn to speak Cantonese perfectly. Unexpectedly challenging questions were raised about the God she introduced, and she was hard pressed to find convincing answers. But God blessed her efforts to bring people to him, and helped her as she took time to re-evaluate her own faith. The author tells her story honestly, just as she did long ago in her journal when she recorded the “lessons” she learned through the successes and failures, joys and sorrows of her first four and a half years in Hong Kong. Her writing gives us an inspiring view of a real God at work in the life of a real person.

Superhero Toys

In a recent article on wired.com ,Kevin Feige – the man behind just about every Marvel movie of recent was quoted as saying that Marvel has movies planned out until 2021. So like it or not, super hero movies are here to stay.

With each movie there is of course a toy and with super heroes this seems to compound the amount of toys released. Lets take a look at a few of them. First, a few new Iron Man toys (and then a throw back to the heroes in a half shell- the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).

Iron Man is a classic character with charm and kid cool-ness. He looks like a shiny robot and shoots lasers and flies, sounds like fun to me and I am supposedly an adult.

First up is the Avengers Assemble Iron Man Action Cycle. This toy is air powered and uses no batteries, big plus for the green parents among us. The premise of this toy is there is an air bladder which when stomped on or punched pushed Iron Man on a motor cycle across the room. This toy works best on a hard flat surface, carpet will slow it down. Since this toy is a ‘smash’ toy kids should be careful not to stomp someone’s fingers or toes while playing. This toy is available for $19.99 and is available now.

From Hasbro comes the Iron Man Assemblers Interchangeable Battle Vehicle. This toy includes Iron Man, a race car which Iron Man fits inside. The interesting bit about this toy is the car can be used as an added armor to Iron Man, making him even further invincible! Each weapon is attached by removing an arm and attaching one which is holding a weapon. The vehicle also has the ability to launch Iron Man with a spring loading mechanism which is triggered with a push of the spoiler on the car.
