Kidorable Contest

April showers, bring may flowers!  We all know that, right?  And April sure has come in with a bang!  We love Kidorable.  Little Man loves his new Space-Hero raincoat.  It matches his fun space-hero rainboots (also Kidorable!)  Just in the nick of time, too- because the day after it came, it started to rain.  For 3 days.  So- you can say that we had the chance to test it out!  He loves it.  It feels like dress-up or costumes/role play to him, because all of the raincoats (and rain-gear in general) are themed, so the kids get to pick what they love, and go with it!  Little picked space creatures- he will not admit that it is a space man, haha.  It keeps him super dry, and I love that the hood looks like a little helmet.  How fun!

We also have the Giraffe book ends.  It goes with his new Jungle/Wild animal themed room, and since we have 5 million books- its great to have such a cute place to put them!  It has a cute spot to place a photo.  It’s a small spot- so make sure you get a little picture  🙂 

Do you love his little Space-Hero self?  I know I do, but I’m a bit partial  🙂   Every kid needs rain-gear.  You don’t want your munchkin getting cold and wet!

Ebeanstalk.com Review

Ebeanstalk.com is a cute, well organized site filled with learning toys for babies and all the way up. Their toys are selected by experts to ensure a match to children’s development. Ebeanstalk offers a variety of toys, such as pretend play toys, wooden toys, and (our favorite!) travel toys. They also offer TONS of arts and crafts for kids, so if you have projects you want to do, or have crafty kids- Ebeanstalk is a good place to know about. They even have eco friendly toys, which I love, as well!

Their website is super easy to browse, and it is broken down into lots of helpful categories, such as age, gender, and brand. You can also just put a type of toy- ie, “horse” into the search bar, and they will all pop up for you.  WITH photos, all on the same page.  Easy.  You can also make a wishlist- Fab for the holidays or birthdays.

Flirty Aprons, Review and Contest

Confession!  I do not cook a whole lot.  I think I have mentioned this, yes?  LOL
I do like to bake, and I have a love of all things Retro!  I love these adorable aprons from Flirty Aprons.  They have so many styles to choose from, and they just released their latest!  The new Marilyn Line.  This new selection is one of Flirty Apron’s lower priced lines, and is one layer instead of 2, which allows it to be a lower cost.  If you have been wanting to try one out, but are on a budget- this is a great line to try!  These vintage-inspired aprons are both beautiful and designed for real women- to fit all sorts of shapes and body types.  Check me out- fresh in from yoga, and still lookin’ cute in my Mint-a-liscous apron!  (Work what you got, mama’s!)

Whistlefritz- Spanish for kids, Contest!

Whistlefritz– A new Spanish Language DVD for kids ages 2-6.  The title is Las Estaciones (The Seasons).
It’s a cute video, featuring a little animated mouse as well as a Spanish speaking senorita.  This one focuses on the weather and the four seasons.  It’s really cute, and has fun and upbeat music that the kids can enjoy while learning a new language.  I’m not liking the video as much as other Spanish learning DVDs, because, while it is cute, and I like the music- it is entirely in Spanish.  It can be hard for kids to follow along, and because they have no idea what is going on, and they are speaking in full sentences- the kids get bored and stop paying attention.  I have used this both in class and at home, and the kids didn’t love it as much as other ones I have used with them.  It would be a good to use for a little variety with other Spanish language learning sets.  That is how I am currently using it.  They also can only seem to watch it for 15 minutes at a time or so.  Once they become more fluent, you can use this DVD more regularly.

Artisan Ovens™ Flatbreads

Hey all!  I just tried out a NEW product from Arnold / Oroweat called Artisan Ovens™ Flatbreads. 
These new flatbreads are so versatile that they can be used at any meal (or between meals).  You can roll, dip or rip ‘em, AND bake, grill or enjoy them fresh out of the package. And with the three varieties – Original, Savory Herb and Multi-Grain – you’re sure to find one you love.
There is some not-so-good news, Artisan Ovens™ Flatbreads are currently only available in the Northeast at Walmart and Sam’s Club stores, but they are hopefully going to be moving into more stores soon!  But if you live in the area, then you can pick these up the next time you are out and about. 

 

 
The new Artisan oven breads by Arnold’s have a good assortments of flavor already.  We had multi-grain, original, and savory herb.  All three were good, but I think by far my favorite is the savory herb.  It is so easy to make something really good, using these as a starting point.  We had made mini pizzas with some plain sauce and mozzarella cheese sprinkled on it, and they came out well.  The herb bread brought it together nicely.  Also, with just a bit of cheese on it or maybe some olive oil, toast it slightly and serve as a nice garlic bread to complement your spaghetti dinner.  My favorite by far of the recipes we tried is the mozzarella and fresh tomato sandwich.  Using the Artisan Ovens™ Flatbreads as the bread, and toasting very lightly to heat it up.  It is also pretty good toasted with just about anything on it, just like regular bread. 
 

I also like how you can easily cut it into perfect pieces with the pattern on the back of them.  Perfect portions, here we come!  No more fighting over whose half is bigger!  Haha.  Very good idea, Arnold’s.

ScareMeNots- you are going to love them! (One of my all time Favs!) + Contest

To wrap up my “Big Boy Bed” Sweet Dreams celebration, I am returning to an “old friend”.  Those of you who follow me on Facebook or Twitter have no doubt read my updates and seen the photos of our buddy, ScareMeNot, Protector Patty!  We just love her.  She has been a constant in Little Man’s crib, nap mat, car rides, and now bed, since she got here back in the fall.  What a great idea this is-  a Monster for your Monsters!  These huggable and friendly monsters, the ScareMeNots, have been to school and learned all the ways to protect your little one from any “boogie men” and monsters under the bed that may be lurking after mom and dad close the door at night and the lights are out.  They also seem to be able to help a bit with bad dreams.  (Why not?  The power of suggestion is an amazing thing- run with it!)  They have these great tails that allow them to hang from just about anywhere- you can also tuck it under the bed to keep an eye out, if that is your biggest monster woe.  Most of them have lots of extra eyes, all the better to watch out at night and keep a nervous sleeper safe and sound (and calm, so able to sleep!)

As a woman who puts over 20 kids down for nap/bed every day, I can tell you that anything that makes this job easier is worth is weight in gold.  But they don’t charge gold- they are really priced right!  I have to say, I have bought more then one of these as a gift.  They really are perfect, and any kid will love it!
