Water Wubble for Summer Fun

Water balloon fights are awesome, but are not fun to clean up after, and a few people always get stuck making a ton of balloons (and those knots….blah).  An easy work around is the new Water Wubble.  The Water Wubble is a new water based Wubble (the latest toy in the Wubble family) which is able to be filled with water from the pool, faucet, ocean, or hose easily and quickly. It easily seals up after filling.  When it is thrown, it hits your target with a splash and can be refilled again and again for loads of fun. No knots required.

We have found the Water Wubble is easy to fill in the pool, at the beach and the hose all just the same.   These are a lot of fun, and who doesn’t love a water fight in the heat of the summer?  These make perfect grenades that explode water everywhere when they burst.  Water Wubbles would be perfect where each team has a bucket of water and Water Wubbles (they come in different colors) to go along with various water guns.  But of course the real winner of the water gun fight is Mom, because she was smart and kept the hose on after filling the Water Wubbles and now turned it on the kiddos (LOL).

The coolest part of the Water Wubble is by far its re-usability.  Each Wubble can be filled hundreds of times and seal up easily and can be used again and again.

Karina Dresses Look Good On Everyone- Win One Here!

Being top heavy, dresses are sometimes hard for me to find and fit into. My chest is always my first consideration, and if there is a zipper or buttons involved, that complicated matters quite a bit. Not that I am currently a slender woman, but whether at my slimmest or largest, when you have a chest as large as mine, no one makes clothes to fit the top, middle, and bottom all at the same size and you end up in a bag or at the tailor.

Samurai Burrito Food Review

A new sushi adventure!

Exciting things are happening with familiar ingredients again in the world of sushi and Samurai Burrito is leading the charge from their food truck based out of Orange County California. First there was sushi, then the sushi roll, after came deconstructed sushi bowls, and now inspired by the form and concept of our neighbors to the south we have sushi nachos and burritos! You won’t find any flour or corn tortillas, but why not embrace the “easy to eat on the run” burrito wrap?

Food Trucks like Samurai Burrito offer high quality food in unexpected locations. Sometimes it is hard to chose what to try, in which case I usually pick the most unusual and new. I have come across sushi burritos before, but the Samurai Super Nachos… they were a discovery.

The wonton chips are reminiscent of those found on the table at a Chinese restaurant. They make an excellent base for the overflowing flavors in this dish. King salmon, spicy tuna, eel, masago, and three house sauces are complimented by fresh cut onion to give the Samurai Super Nachos a real kick. Absolutely an item for sharing as it is very rich and the portions are generous.

There are a lot of options for burritos, tacos, bowls, or salads or you can mix and match your favorite ingredients for a personalized experience. Even the selection of wraps for burritos is extensive with traditional options like seaweed and soy paper, or more exotic ones like togarashi and shiso. Some of the items are imported all the way from Japan.

This truck is a refreshing option on a hot summer day so I definitely recommend keeping your eyes open for it. You can also track them down online for their scheduled appearances.

This is a fully functioning radio control car- and it’s aimed at the girls for once. Not that you shouldn’t give your brother a turn, hey now, but it’s nice to see the ladies get a radio control vehicle now and then. Huzzah. This Barbie Hot Pink car holds any Barbie doll- or any doll around the same size. The car requires quite a few batteries- two AAA for the remote and five AA for the car itself, so make sure you have some on hand. Looking for something a little different? Maybe you are dreaming of a vacation far, far away? Playmobile has these cool History themed sets, such as 5386. No real name, but it’s basically Pharaoh’s Pyramid. Apologies, it’s not a great system, but at least it’s easy to look up. Don’t let that dissuade you from picking it up- this is one of the cooler toys I’ve seen this year. Way back in February at New York Toy Fair, I was digging on this one, and looking forward to it’s coming out. This pyramid has five chambers that hide jewels and treasures, as well as (0f course) a mummy in it’s tomb. It’s well guarded, and protected by all sorts of traps that let you get your inner archeologist on. You can remove the several of the pyramid’s walls to get even more entombed, I mean, entwined in your playing. Do your kids like to make their own home movies? If they have already played with Stikbots and loved them (as my son has), they will love Stickbot pets. If they haven’t, maybe now is the time to try it out. These toys are so inexpensive, hard to break, and give hours and hours of creative and imaginative play- they really are some of our favorite toys of all time. Easily a top 10 in my household. Stickbot is a YouTube sensation- there are roughly 200 million views and more coming every day. These toys let kids become stop-motion-animators themselves, and now Stikbots have pets to join in the fun! Travel Light With These Easy To Pack Products

Headed out for a weekend, or perhaps longer? With all the restrictions on how much you are allowed to pack (or even how much space you might have in your own car or luggage), it’s best to pack light, and with versatile pieces.  These are a few of our current favorites.

Icebug, one of my personal favorites in shoes and boots that can hold up and take quite the beating, has recently put out a new style of sneaker. While it would be more convenient and easy if it had a name with letters that formed, perhaps, a word or two, these are found by their call number, which is DTS3 RB9X GTX. I know.

However, they are super cool shoes, and wildly comfortable. I love the color and the style- it’s nice to wear shoes that are nice looking, lets be honest. But even better, they are soft, supportive, and really hold up. They deal with mud, slush, and rain with no problems at all, and your feet stay dry. The Icebugs have done me equally well hiking, running, going to the gym, and running random errands around town. Something else I love? They have this cool “Boa lacing system” that lets you slip your feet in, then just twist the knob (best way to describe it) on the front tongue until you like the way it fits. Pull it straight back to release- this makes on and off at the airport (or wherever) fast and easy.
