It’s voting time!!!  As many of you know I am an award winning children’s book Author and partnered with Leader Dogs for the Blind.  A portion of the proceeds from my book sales are donated to this organization.   Recently, I have worked with Leader Dogs for the Blind in the creation of our newest book “Dogs Work Too!” to tell their story about Leader Dogs for the Blind from a dogs prospective.   Since the release of the book, an educational promotional video was created.  It has been a really exciting and rewarding project.

This brand new video promotion titled “Read With Max!  Childrens Book “Dogs Work Too!” A Story About Leader Dogs for the Blind” has been selected to compete in the 2011 Peoples Telly Award. This competition is conducted online at the Official Telly Awards YouTube website.  Voting starts Monday March 28th and continues for 4 weeks.

North American Bear- a fuzzy review!

Do you know how you are just instantly drawn to some things?  I have to say that was the way it was for me and North American Bear.  They just have some of the most adorable stuffed toys!  I love how original and unique they are as well.  Things you won’t see anywhere else!  I even got to see them at NY Toy Fair, and I was really excited to see so many of their toys up close and personal.  As someone who used to collect stuffed animals, and who has a son who is a bigger-then-usual fan of all things plush,

My Little Man was sent two super cute, and unique fun toys.  One is called a Topsy Turvy Pet.  They come in lots of varieties, and they are all adorable.  Little Man got a salamander, and he is really loving it!  These little velour eggs “hatch” out animals.  He really loves watching the baby animal “hatch” out of the egg, and it is like having two toys in one, since it does two things.  It’s an egg, and it is also a stuffed toy.  Something else I love?  They are machine washable.  Every parent knows that there is nothing better then a toy that is easy to clean.  Spot clean only?  Myah, ok.  Toys get dirty!  Especially if they are really loved.
He took this to the Ringling Brothers Circus with us, it has come to school 4 times, on more car rides then I can count, and it is in his bed almost every night.  You can say it has needed the washing machine, LOL.

He also got Supper Hero, one of the My Own Monster line.  The kids North American Bear have had their own chance to design toys.  Supper Hero teaches kids that even monsters have manners!  Little Man thought the napkin  idea (check it out!) was such a good idea, that he yanked off the cape to use it.  Mom was not thrilled!  But, again, thankfully it was machine washable, LOL.

With their energy, creativity, style and impressive vocals, the Herr family from Normal, IL triumphed over more than 175 entrants to win the Children’s Advil® Relieve My Fever contest!!!
The makers of Children’s Advil are proud to announce that the Herr family’s winning video “Superheroes Defeat Fever” was the recipient of the $15,000 grand prize!  
The Relieve My Fever contest asked parents and their kids to grab the video camera and sing the Children’s Advil® rendition of the classic song “Fever.” The re-make of the “Fever” song told the story of a mommy (or daddy) who helps fight and treat their child’s/children’s fever to ultimately “relieve their fever.”  Over the past few months, entrants submitted their original videos using homemade props and incorporating creative editing techniques. Consumers were then asked to vote for their favorite video to help determine the grand prize winner.

The contest raised $50,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, which raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals across North America, including the Children’s Hospital in Illinois.

TheraBreath Review and Contest

I was given the pleasure of trying some new breath cleaning products made by Therabreath and Dr.Harold Katz. Dr Katz is the founder of “The California Breath Clinics”, and he has been on television shows like “The View” and “CBS Early Show” and has helped millions in his quest to vanquish bad breath.
The products I was given to try are Therabreath toothpaste, Therabreath oral rinse and the Therabreath mouth wetting lozenges. The toothpaste. Right off the bat, without even opening it up, take a look at the ingredients- you do want to know what you put in your mouth, don’t you? Well, most of the ingredients in Therabreath toothpaste are natural ingredients. Yay! Also, the packaging itself is “green”, both in the colors (green, orange, and white) but it is also environmentally kind. And it is even Kosher and safe for diabetics. Now, onto the important part- the taste and texture. No problems there! The taste is minty and fresh without any strange aftertastes or chemically enhanced “freshness”, natural mint, very nice. The texture is also good to the point where, when finished brushing, my teeth feel clean and smooth.
The oral rinse is meant to be used after the toothpaste. The rinse has the ingredient: OXYD-8, which is an oxidizer and destroys odor causing bacteria. The longer you swish it around, the better a job the rinse will do at getting all the little buggers before they give you bad breath. Doctor Katz suggests swishing and gargling for 30 seconds then spitting and gargling for another 45 seconds.
