I know I am supposed to start out by talking about the scale and it’s merits- but I have to tell you something first- I LOVE THIS SCALE! Super easy to use, and fast, fast, FAST!!! I got my children’s weight very easily and quickly, and there was no need to do that “tap first” thing. It was so great- and I love that it is helping me measure my weight loss! I’m really trying hard, LOL.
You know how kids wiggle on the scale? Who cares? On this one- it’s almost instant! I love that it also gives you ounces- every little bit counts, haha. On the aesthetic note- it’s also really attractive.
I know, some of you are thinking “a scale is a scale, right”? Wrong! I had another scale- no comparison! It was never accurate, just “close”. And not anywhere near as nice-looking, either.
OK! I’ll give you the actual description now, LOL.
Cool, yes?
It also came with a tape measure- all the better to measure your shrinking waist with, my dear! 🙂
Definitely use the scale on a hard floor- not on a carpet- because it is not accurate on a carpet- although the number it will give you is VERY flattering, hahaha.

New Year, New YOU! So, you all know I have been trying to lose some weight and stay healthy- I’m pretty healthy, and I’d like to stay that way, LOL. But, baby, can I stand to lose a few pounds!
Enter- Mom’s Into Fitness! This is called the “60 day SlimDown System- Get your Body Back!” It is made by Lindsay Brin, C.P.T. & B.S.E. Exercise Science, is a fitness and nutrition expert, and a former NFL cheerleader. Just like us, right? HA!
🙂
So you guys know (I hope! LOL) that I’m an honest reviewer- and I call it like I see it. You also know that since Christmas, I have been actively trying to lose weight, and I’m only using products that I’m reviewing here on Have Sippy Will Travel. (See Update)
So Away we go!!!
Mom’s Into Fitness is a cool idea. I never had the body of a cheerleader, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to fit into my favorite jeans again! You can really ease into this routine and workout, it didn’t kill me or make my body scream the next day.
If you don’t like the routine, if it is too hard, or you are bored- you are not going to stick with it, true? This is none of that, so we are good to go. It has 4 DVDs, so you can change it up. You are supposed to, in fact, and there is a system that you can use to maximize weight loss.
So, what do you get with the “60 day SlimDown System- Get your Body Back!”?
Hey ya’ll- my buddy over at Blessed Elements needs a little “nudge”! Go give her a “like”, she’s almost at her 100! 🙂

Have Ever You Had Trouble Keeping Your New Year’s Resolutions?
Do you try and try to keep all of your New Years goals each year, but it never seems to work?
For New Years Resolution success this year, try these three simple tips on goal setting:
1. Make your goals specific.
Vague goals make it easier for you to put them off or ‘start tomorrow’.
Instead of: ‘I would like to lose’, try:
‘I will lose 10 pounds this year’.
2. Make your goals attainable.
If your goals are too lofty, you probably won’t reach them.
If your goal is to run a marathon, but you’ve never ran a day in your life, start with something attainable, like a 5k run.
Once completed, you can move [Read more…]
I was recently sent a book called “Show me How! : Build Your Child’s Self–Esteem Through Reading, Crafting and Cooking written by author Vivian Kirkfield ” which I really liked. I think most of you know that I spend pretty much every waking moment surrounded by the “little people”, LOL. The development of children is supremely important to me, as I believe it is for most of you. As a mommy and as a teacher, I enjoy spending time with them, and learning how to improve that time and help them get he most out of it is great.
I absolutely love the ideas and examples. The author draws from so many great children’s books, that even if you work at a Pre-K and have a massive home library like yours truly, you will still need to utilize your local library. (And there is another great way to spend dome quality time with your kiddos!)
For example, there is a reading activity in which the adult reads “Alexander, Who is Not (Do You Hear Me? I Mean It!) Going to Move” by Judith Viorst. The child is anxious about moving, and so the parental notes on the bottom suggest activities that can help make the child feel more confident and even excited about the move. Change is scary! You can overcome the fears together.
There is a fun activity in the crafting area, about how to make a sundial A sundial! How fun and how creative is that!? I love it!
