A Real Must-Have- Star Kids! Review and Contest

As you guys know, this momma loves to travel. And my Little Man and I are in the car quite a bit- our Pre-K is not so close to home! It’s a 45 minute drive each way- so we spend some time in the car, and Little in his car seat.
I was recently sent an amazing (wonderful, fantastic, I-love-this-so-much-I can’t-even-tell-you) product from Star Kids called the Snack and Play Travel Tray.
It is super easy to use- you just wrap the strap around the back of the car seat, put the tray on the lap area of the car seat, and viola! A tray for your sweetie! They can play on it, eat on it, read or color, anything.

I have to tell you, now that I have the Snack and Play Travel Tray, I don’t know what I did without it. It is one of those AHA!!!! moments.
My Little Man drives me insane to and from work in the mornings- “MOMMY! I DROPPED IT!!!!!” and tears until I pull the car over and find whatever he has dropped, or he cries when he drops it again and I won’t pull over multiple times. (I do have to get there on time!) It is one of those things about my lovie that I don’t really like- he is a buggar in the car. Always has been. The other [Read more…]

Pillsbury Toaster Strudel Contest

Pillsbury is a great go-to brand when it come to baking to me. I definitely think of them when I need to make a cake, cupcakes, or muffins in a hurry, and don’t have time to do the whole “from scratch” thing.
My husband loves Pillsbury Toaster Strudels, so when I had the chance to share this fun product with you guys, I couldn’t pass it up!
The commercials compare Toaster Strudels to other kinds of toaster pastries. The difference being, that you can put your own designs on them yourself with the little pouch given. This adds an element of fun to breakfast or dessert (or snack, whenever you choose!)
They are also flaky, and more “gooey” then other boxed breakfast pastries.
I am not a huge fan of super-sweet things, but as I said, my husband LOVES them. He chose Boston Cream Toaster Strudels, which he had never had. He and Little Man tried them out for the first time after dinner one night, as a dessert. (Kamikaze was in BIG trouble, she was not getting dessert that night- sorry! No one ever said being a mom was easy…sigh.)
Can you tell Little likes it?
Dad put the frosting on one, Little on the other. Guess who did which one? Haha.

We were sent other fun stuff, too. Here is a pic of our Pillsbury Toaster Strudel fun pack from My Blog Spark;

Looks like fun, right?
Little Man loved the Pillsbury Dough Boy toy. He does his signature giggle “huh-hmmm!” when you hug him. The smiley face place-mat, giant mug, and ball were fun additions as well.

When your morning routine has you in a hurry, make it a better morning with Pillsbury Toaster Strudel frozen pastries. A simple pleasure with sweet filling, creamy icing, and flaky crust, Pillsbury Toaster Strudel pastries are the ones everyone will want to eat – and decorate too! Since every Toaster Strudel pastry can be personalized with your own icing design, your family can gather around the table to kick off the day with a fun delight that will keep everyone smiling all day long!

Now you have the chance to show us what kind of icing artist you are with the “Doodle on A Strudel” Facebook application. [Read more…]

Tassimo, Review and Contest – Holiday Gift Guide

Introducing the new Tassimo T20 Brewbot by Bosch!

Who likes a nice cup of coffee to start their day? I know I am not alone on this. While I don’t drink it every day, my husband does, and so do most of my friends. (And when I do drink it, I drink A LOT of it, LOL)
I recently got to try out this cool system, the Tassimo T20 Brewbot.

My husband set it up and tried it out. It makes amazing coffee. I think that it creates a lot of waste, but I would hope that everyone will rinse and recycle the packages to reduce that. Other then that aspect, it’s cool. My inner hippie is really freaking out about the waste factor, but as long as it can be recycled, then I can calm myself.
It does not take up much space on the counter, which is great, because as I am sure many of you know, I live in the world’s smallest house. [Read more…]

Squinkies- CONTEST!!!

Squinkies, Squinkies, I have Squinkes! Do you? If you want them for Christmas, you better get ’em soon!
Everywhere I look for the past few months, I hear about Squinkies. What’s up?
I so wanted to check them out. As a Pre-K teacher, Girl Scout leader, Youth Group Mentor, and Sunday School teacher- I see a LOT of kids. And so many of them had, or wanted- Squinkes!
I was sent 3 Bubble Packs to review. Each pack had 16 “squishy, squashy” Squinkies in them, 4 of which are “mystery Squinkies”- where you can’t see them, haha).

OK, first let me say this- I think these things are bananas, LOL. They are tiny, they are in little gumball-things, they seem like they will be lost every 5 seconds. But every. SINGLE. kid. HAS. to. have. SQUINKES.
I brought one pack to the Pre-K on a “light” day, and gave each kid one. (I was a very popular lady that day. And yes, I did ask parents if they were cool with that, first.) The kids went CRAZY, they were totally exited. One girl actually shook with excitement and started yelling ” I wanted a squashy! I wanted a squashy! How did you even know????” LOL it was cute. They have brought them in almost every day since, and I have had to regulate them to staying in the lunchboxes because they were getting lost.
I also brought a pack into the Youth Group, and gave them out there. The kids were so happy to have Squinkes- most of them had been wanting them, and were excited to get some of thier own (again, I sent an email to moms and dads asking if they were cool with that first).
I was really happy to be able to make so many kids happy, and in turn need to say “Thank You” to Squinkies, who gave me the Bubble Packs to begin with.

(I’m awful, and kept the third pack to split between Little Man and Kamikaze. [Read more…]

Funky Monkey Snacks Contest

Funky Monkey Snacks are a healthy option to send to school or take to work as a snack. Instead of high in sugar, fat, or salt, try these!

Did you know that Funky Monkey snacks come in both 1oz bags (three servings of fruit) and 0.42oz bags (1 serving of fruit). The smaller size are the perfect fit for most kids’ lunch boxes, pack a bag of these instead of chips!

Little Man is a huge fan of both dried and dehydrated fruit, and so is the hubs. Kamikaze eats anything that doesn’t move too fast, so that’s a no-brainier.
Me- not so much. I really prefer my fruit fresh, and not really any other way. I don’t like it canned or preserved or anything, either. What can I say, I’m a purist!
Little Man liked all but one of the 7 varieties- that’s always good! And Kamikaze? All. (Shocking, I know!)

Funky Monkey Snacks are a line of freeze-dried fruit that are 100% natural, 100% real fruit, and 100% delicious – with three servings of fruit in each 1oz bag! Our “fruit that crunches” provides the ultimate snack, fusing the great taste, smell, and nutritional goodness of fresh fruit with the crunch and convenience of conventional snacks. Here are some additional Funky Monkey highlights:
Funky Monkey Snacks have no added colors, flavors, sugars, or preservatives
• Our special, proprietary manufacturing process provides for a crunchier texture vs. conventional freeze-drying techniques
• We use full slices and pieces (not dices) of delicious, fresh fruit
Funky Monkey is made in Brazil using tropical fruits at the peak of freshness
• Our products are gluten-free and are certified Kosher
