Cookies Kids- Part 2- An Online Shop With Mastercard #CBias

So- you all know how much I love Cookies KidsThe Kids Department Store– from my last shop with them in New York. BUT- now I get to tell you all about shopping with them online!

Shopping with Cookies Kids online was so easy, I could even do it from my hotel room while my kids relaxed and watched some TV! Yeah, OK, I was a bad mom today, I let them watch TV for a half hour, LOL. We were up SOOOO late last night, they are a little tired and needed a break before the days activites. But I digress. Back to Cookies!

My daughter had fun choosing a pair of boots– she chose these Eddie Marc’s in black.
My Little Man wanted the Brobee Hat, so we got it for him. They each got coats, and new socks (because for some reason my kids go through socks like water), new sweatpants, jeans, Little got a sweatsuit outfit, Kamikaze got a shirt….ahhh, to see it all, just go check out my Google Plus story shop 🙂

I love Cookies Kids, I will be a regular shopper from now on. They are great to shop at both online and in person. The in-person staff is friendly and helpful- [Read more…]

Leapster Explorer- Check it out!

Do you know what it feels like to be wrong? I mean really wrong. Well my wife decided to grab Little Man a Leapster. All I thought they were were glorified gameboys that play only educational games.
Well I was wrong. The newest Leapesters are so much more. On surface the Leapster explorer looks like a larger, bigger screened gameboy advance, difference is it long looks that way on the outside. Once it is actually turned on its a different story. The Explorer has a high resolution screen and very nice graphics. The features of this little guy are astounding, its an e-reader, can download games and apps from online, has an interactive globe, and the ability to attach a still and video camera. Just to name a few. Take a a look at the full list.

A few stand out features for me are the ability to track your progress online and the ability of the Explorer to adjust its difficulty automatically. So not only can you tell how your little ones are doing and what they are doing well at, but it also will adjust so what they are playing/working on isn’t difficult to the point of putting the Explorer down and walking away in aggravation.
This unit gives your kids all the fun and educational usage of a gameboy/tablet/laptop with the safety of a Leap Pad. There is nothing your child shouldn’t see or do on the Explorer.

The games available for the Explorer are all [Read more…]

Warning Signs of Vision Problems in Children

Many parents don’t realize that their infants, toddlers, and school-age children can be just as susceptible
to vision problems as adults. The major difference is that if these issues go untreated, their vision
may never develop normally (even with later treatments). For this reason it is imperative that parents
be aware of the warning signs that indicate ocular issues. Although you might think that a tendency
to run into things, misjudge distances, and topple over is natural at some stages of growth (and it is,
for most toddlers), it’s better to be safe than sorry. You should not only be aware of stages of visual
development in children, but have a good idea of what could be abnormal. So here are just a few signs
to look for if you fear that your child may develop vision problems.

To begin with, you should know that infants don’t see very well. They’re born without a fully developed
sense of sight that continues to mature over several months. Your child will likely see quite well at 3-
6 months of age, but their visual senses may take up to eight months to form fully. And over the next
few years it is imperative that they learn to interact with their environment through visual cues. If their
eyesight is somehow impaired during that time, it may never return to full strength. So it behooves you
to watch for certain markers that they’re suffering from vision loss.

And there are plenty of indicators that something is wrong. Cataracts, while relatively rare in children,
are by no means unheard of. Some babies are born with these milky spots on their eyes while others
develop them in early childhood. Either way, they must be treated immediately [Read more…]

What’s new for Christmas? THOR!!!!

For my little guy, Thor is “the man” at the moment (and by the way- Thor is the guy who sings “Lightning Crashes” don’t ya know? LOL It’s totally not the band Live). No, of course I didn’t let him watch the movie- that’s a little too old for him- but he loves Marvel and action heroes, so Thor is awesome! And since mommy has been inundating him with myths and legends since birth, and daddy is a comic-geek, he was a sure thing to love these new fun Thor toys!

(Approximate Retail Price: $19.99 & $7.99; Ages: 5 & up)
Kids can now pretend to be their favorite Asgardian and summon the power of THOR! Hasbro’s THOR LIGHTNING HAMMER delivers a great role-play experience, allowing fans to recreate the on-screen action of the upcoming film, THOR. The replica of THOR’S signature weapon is fully equipped with electronic battle sounds and a launching projectile. Requires three “AAA” batteries, included.

Helping to complete the THOR role-play experience is Hasbro’s THOR HELMET. Styled after the Asgardian’s iconic wing-tipped helmet, the role-play toy lets kids pretend to be the mighty hero.

For real, how cool, right? Yeah- Thor was worn for quite some time- and we also had to bring our little Thor action figure as well. Because you can’t be some wacko kid in a helmet- you also need to have a toy to carry about as well. 😛

Dragonfire Stunt Chaser- Daddy’s Corner!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to race a car at 300 mph, but do not have the funds for a Lamborghini ? Well unfortunately I did not review one of those, but I did get a new remote controlled car that travels at 300 mph *cough* scale speed*cough*!

This car is called the Dragonfire Stunt Chaser. It is super simple to use and has a lot of potential. The best way to describe it is think of Speedy Gonzalez with four wheels that follows a special red light. This red light is used to guide the chaser where ever you wish. It follows it blazing fast and will follow it up ramps, around giant cyclone tubes, anywhere. The cars are also dual sided, this [Read more…]

Disney Princesses on Ice- a Magical Performance (Dare to Dream)

We recently took my son and his little friend Capt. E to see Disney Princesses on Ice.
It was my favorite Princess show we have seen so far- not that I am hard to please when it comes to Disney!

We went to see Dare to Dream, produced by Feld Entertainment, which focused on some of the “newer” Princesses- Tiana and Rapunzel, as well as the classic favorite Cinderella. My Little Man has not seen The Princess and the Frog, and neither has his momma (Gasp! I know.) but that didn’t stop us from loving the story or the performance. He most enjoyed when Tiana and Naveen were turned into frogs- but a close runner up was the ice-skating Gator, LOL.

And of course, there is always the magic of Cinderella- a classic Disney tale. The favorite of so many little girls, and of course the Princess of the famous castle IN Disney that is like it’s own “Statue of Liberty”, lol, the show got some comic relief in the form of “evil stepsisters” Anastasia and Drusilla. They were silly, clown-like, and falling all over the place. I was a little nervous about the Evil Stepmother, that she may scare the kids- but not to worry. She was not nearly as intimidating as the movie version.

enjoying the show- intermission time!

Last but not least was Rapunzel, who longed to escape her tower and see the “floating lights” that appeared on her birthday each year. Her opportunity appeared in an unlikely way- as the thief Flynn was rushing to hide from his would-be captors for stealing, yet again. To evade capture, and to get back his stolen treasure (which the lady fair has hidden from him) he agrees to help Rapunzel [Read more…]

We received Tracy from the fine folks at Toy Teck. She is a pink poodle, and can you guess who loved her? Little Man, of course- who cares if she is pink? She is a doggie!!!! She also arrived with a fashion set. The dog herself has buttons and switches her on ,which activates sounds which are appropriate for the [Read more…]
