DACRON Memorelle Pillows Review and Giveaway

How long has it been since you upgraded your pillows?

When they do a good job, you don’t think about them one bit, but when they don’t that is another story completely. I am sure a lot of you have seen memory foam pillows and mattresses and thought they are top of the line. One of the chief problems with memory foam bedding is they are solid bricks of memory foam, you can’t really fold a memory foam pillow in half and prop yourself up when you are sick. And for me- they are too hard. Another issue is they absorb heat quickly, if you are a warm/hot sleeper, these beddings will get uncomfortable quickly. The ideal material would be something in between a regular cotton pillow that is malleable but also give and supports like memory foam.

Dacron has come up with just such a fiberfill with their newest Memorelle pillows. [Read more…]

Egypt Toob from @SafariLtd

Traveling and history go hand in hand. When I’m traveling, then naturally I’m learning all about the history of a place as well. Visiting different monuments and locations in any country makes it more meaningful if I’m already aware of the culture and history from its past. If you are not already aware- pick up a local guidebook (what better way to figure it out?)

It is never too early to start teaching history to children in an entertaining fashion.
Egypt is a fascinating place filled with the history of art, culture, and ancient civilizations. I want to pass the desire to learn about other places and their history to Little Man. It needs to be fun, yet mingled with little facts that he can grasp onto. Safari Ltd. has a wonderful Ancient Egypt [Read more…]

Taste What You’re Missing- A Delicious Book Review

Have you ever been told to try something because it is so good you will be amazed? However, when you actually try it, its nothing special. Either someone is having some fun with you at your expense, or there actually is something you are missing. You say tomato….

To find out if your friends are all goobers or you just have a junk palette (mwah-haha), you don’t need an expensive class or to spend time with a stuck up snob trying to ‘educate’ your taste buds. Right? How much fun would that be? Not so much.

Check out this book- It’s author, Barb Stuckey, has been a professional food developer for fifteen years. Her goal in writing this book was to make a “Tasting for Dummies” kind of book that teaches the reader to taste all the flavors and nuances of their food. She starts with the five basic tastes- sweet, sour, bitter, salt and umami- to the profiles of spices, grassy, pungent, warm smoky floral, etc. The book is very interesting, particularly in its recipes and experiments, which teach your brain how to taste differences and hone in on what those differences are.

With salt, water and accent flavor enhancer, you can [Read more…]

Shoe Lights- An Illuminating Review

It’s Summer time and the nights are getting longer, but there is still that creeping darkness that always seems to put an end to the most fun games of tag or exploring. What to do as bed times near and school ends.
When I was younger it, was hide and seek with flashlights and glow sticks. Great fun, but in the end flashlights would lose power quickly and didn’t really help while running full speed from ‘it’…..

But how great are these?
National Geographic and Uncle Milton have got this great new product, Shoe Lights. To the rescue again, saving kids with the awful dilemma of not having night vision built into our eyes. Oh, the humanity!!! LOL. The shoe lights are made specifically for shoes. Fancy that! They help light the way on those night expeditions looking for critters or even just looking for a safe spot to plant your foot. The lights have two different modes [Read more…]
