The Best Places to Propose in Paris

Paris is considered by many to be the most romantic city on the planet. Every year couples flock to “The City of Light” to soak up all the romance that Paris has to offer. Due to its legendary reputation as a city for lovers, many guys decide to surprise their girlfriends with marriage proposals on a trip to Paris. It is certainly a wonderful city to pop the question with a vibrant culture of love surrounding you. The problem with Paris is not that it lacks amazing spots to propose, it’s that there are so many! You’ve prepared for the big moment, you’ve found amazing, luxury accommodation, booked cheap flights to Paris, planned the night or day to do it, but imagine if you then got stuck on the best place to do it! That’s why I’ve put together a guide to the three best spots to propose in Paris. Check out the suggestions below when planning to ask the big question:

Pont des Arts

There are many magical bridges with spectacular views in Paris, but none of them offers as much charm and romance as the fantastic Pont des Arts. It is a wooden bridge next to the Louvre only used by pedestrians, so it is quiet enough to work for a proposal setting. This bridge offers spectacular views of the Parisian skyline, including the Eiffel Tower.

Road Trip Prep: 5 Things You Need to Know Before You Hit the Road

It’s getting to be that time of year again, when the warm air tempts animals of every stripe out of their
winter hibernation and into the spring sunshine. And with the end of the school semester looming, a new
fiscal year heralding finalized project schedules at work, and a tax return burning a hole in your savings
account, it’s time to start thinking about your annual family summer outing. But before you strap the
camping gear to the top of the car and head off for parts unknown, there are a few things you need to
consider (especially if you’re road tripping for the first time in an effort to save some money over air travel
this year).

1. Cost. You might think that taking a road trip will save you tons of money over other types of
travel, but before you move ahead on this assumption you need to sit down and tally up the actual
costs to make sure that you’re on the right track. Calculate the price for gas, lodgings, food, and
any other expenses between home and your destination (then double it to account for the return
trip). Compare it to the cost of airline travel just to make sure that you’re actually saving money if
that is your goal. And consider that it may be worth paying slightly for the speed and convenience
of air travel.

2. Logistics. Planning is everything when it comes to a road trip. Even though it is impossible to plan
for everything, you at least need options when it comes to rest stops, dining, and lodgings along
each leg of your journey. That could be as simple as plotting a route, circling towns on the map
that you will hit every [Read more…]

5 Great Places to go Scuba diving in Croatia

When you visit most of the beach destinations on holiday these days, scuba diving is now one of the
regular offerings. With the maturing of the dive industry, you can find a range of diving activities
and courses that now start from as young as 8. This truly can be a holiday activity that can be
enjoyed by the whole family.

However, the majority of scuba experiences will only give you a feel of the underwater instead of an
undersea feel. Basically, the main difference is that the natural wonders below the ocean’s surface
give you a chance to explore a diverse marine environment; sunken ships, and coral reefs to enhance
your dive holiday experience. It isn‘t just about getting wet, or learning to use the equipment –
there is so much more to scuba diving!

Croatia and The Adriatic Sea, is a destination that allows you to experience more than just an
underwater environment, it really will take you on an adventure. Over the years, I have checked out
several places to dive, as well as diving centers’ in nearly eight different countries and Croatia is a
recognized destination that offers something unique.

First of all, you have to complete a scuba diving course; normally this would be the PADI Open Water
Course. It is advisable to take this in Croatia, as part of your diving activities, or alternatively you can
complete this before you arrive. Either way, if you want to go on and dive in Croatia, you must apply
and purchase a ‘divers’ card’, to be able to scuba dive in Croatia. This normally costs 100 Kuna or
Euros equivalent.

There are five different places to dive in Croatia which I would strongly recommend, where the clear
blue seas give excellent conditions for a great dive holiday:

1) Elafity Island is a wonderful dive site and the cave that you can swim into is a great attraction.
This cave also appears to be a breeding area for fish, so you will find a lot various types in this area.
I would recommend this dive spot for more experienced divers, because the constant waves will
make for a difficult entry and exit [Read more…]

Affordable Vacation Ideas for Large Families

There’s a reason most parents are so good at finding bargains; it’s because kids are expensive! And every
addition to the family demands that the breadwinners and bill-payers reexamine the budget and find
ways to cut back in order for a family to live within its means. In many cases, this could mean cutting out
unnecessary expenditures, and vacations are often the first thing to go. But a little R&R is definitely a
must for anyone who works hard, especially when you’ve virtually got two full-time jobs going on. Plus,
you want the kids to see new places and get comfortable with travel. However, in order to bring the whole
brood along you may have to cut some corners when it comes to planning your trip. So here are just a few
vacation ideas that are eminently affordable for the family on a budget.

1. Camping. You will shell out some cash initially for this type of trip, what with all the gear you’ll
need to outfit a large family (tents, sleeping bags, clothing, etc.). The good news is that you can
use your equipment over and over again so that the upfront costs become negligible over time.
Plus, you can go just about anywhere and avoid the cost of a hotel, which is a major savings for a
large family.

2. Day trips. Don’t have the money for a multi-day vacay? Don’t fret. Take a moment to consider all
of the many amazing trips that are within close range of your home. You could plan for several
weekends away each year instead of one major vacation, including days at the beach, hot springs,
nearby national parks, monuments, landmarks, and even roadside attractions. If you’ve run out of
fun ideas in your own hometown, just pop over to the next dot on the map and see what they have
to offer. Then be home in time to sleep in your own bed.

3. Visiting family. If you want to get way out of town you can easily dispel costs [Read more…]

Plan Your Trip with Go Pro Travelling

Have you ever noticed how traveler un-friendly google maps can be? Let me rephrase that. Have you ever tried using Google Maps to plan a trip and found yourself scratching your head over how it works?
Lets say you are going to drive through three states, stopping along the way at various fun places and hotels, grabbing food, etc. This should all be stuff Google Maps could do. But instead- you need a notepad open, a search window and of course- google maps. Working in tandem it is a spiderweb of information which needs to be organized carefully and saved often. Sharing this trip in the making is even more difficult, so you will never know if your significant other would rather go to the road side BBQ place or the burger and shake place a half mile down the road.

Go Pro Travel also saw these short comings in Google Maps and decided to fix it, building upon Google Maps already robust set of [Read more…]

Unique Luxury Travel Destinations

Jet-setting families are always on the lookout for their next major adventure, and anyone who has been at it for long has likely realized the folly of playing it cheap by trying to take the family to the same hostels and low-cost eateries they visited during their college backpacking days. There’s just no denying that traveling with kids requires additional safety and comfort considerations, and if you have the money you should definitely opt for luxurious accommodations when you travel with the whole crew. So if you’re looking for a few new places to take your vacay that can offer you not only new and exciting adventures, but also a bevy of lavish amenities, here are a few unique destinations you may want to consider.

1. Poseidon Mystery Island, Fiji. Although there is plenty to keep you occupied aboveground, the real draw of this so-called mystery island is the underwater resort located there, with 24 suites situated 40 feet below the surf of the island’s crystal-clear lagoon. Interested? It’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime trip that you and the kids will never forget. Unfortunately, it will cost you about $15K per person, which includes airfare and a 6-night stay (although only a third of your visit will occur in the undersea lodgings, with the other four nights spent at the beachside resort). Still, if money is no object in your quest for global domination, this destination is definitely unforgettable.

2. Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You might not be terribly keen to travel around the Middle East these days, but if you actually want to go you probably won’t find more luxurious accommodations (that are actually willing to accommodate western travelers) than in this virtual city of gold. Classic Mercedes Benzes are de rigueur with the wealthy elite (read: the majority) in this dazzling destination, and if you go during their annual Shopping Festival (starting mid-February and lasting for 32 days) you’ll not only find incredible deals on luxury goods, you’ll also get a chance to gawk at travelers from all over the world since about 3 million people flock to Dubai for this fantastic fit of capitalism. Book early.
