What to expect on an all inclusive holiday to Crete

What does that term mean? Nothing to pay when you get there? That’s mainly the case, but you do need to check what it includes before you go.

No-brainers

Let’s start with the weather which is always an important consideration for a holiday. The sunshine and warm temperatures are free! Expect temperatures in the late 20s and 30s during the summer period in Crete. You’ll need your sunscreen to protect and your shades to look cool.

Food and drink

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are usually served in the hotel’s main restaurant. Mostly these are buffet style often with elements cooked to order. During the day snacks are often served at poolside bars and range from pizza to sandwiches. These are ‘all on the house’ – though you’ve already paid for them in your package price! You’ll probably also be treated to a Greek Night, a Cretan BBQ or other gastronomic feasts.

Your free meals will be served in the main restaurant. If your [Read more…]

Christmas at Sea World

Shamu- Christmas at Sea World

Hello from Little Man and Shamu! Sea World is his favorite theme park in Orlando, and the one he most looks forward to. We were undeterred by the cold, and quite excited that we were able to see the costumed Shamu to pose with for photos. We have never had that opportunity before.

Sea World has so much to see and do- from rides to water park (though not today!) and a wide array of shows, you and your family should not miss this attraction the next time you are in the Orlando area. This time, the weather was not super cooperative, so we didn’t do any water rides (they were off, in fact). I am thinking that it may be me- the last few times we went to FL, there were hurricanes, so perhaps I am a harbinger of “fun weather”, LOL. This time, is was very cold (below 60 each day, and down into the 30’s) for the area, and there were even tornado warnings 🙂 Wahoo!

Sea World ShowThat didn’t stop the day from being a whole lot of fun, however. My son LOVES the shows, all of them. We saw Blue Horizons for the first time, which we all enjoyed. The theme was a little (a lot) out there, but it didn’t really matter. It was full of action, stunts (by people and animals), flying birds of several varieties, and aerial performances. There were colorful costumes, banners, flags, and people dressed as tropical birds as well, all adding to the spectacle.

The Pros and Cons of Timeshares as an Investment

The most important thing to understand about buying into a timeshare is that it’s a real estate deal. So if you’re using it as an investment opportunity that just happens to give you a few weeks in desirable locales each year, you need to know that there are both pros and cons to consider. A timeshare is a special type of investment because the value is based on a number of factors that may change over time  and it can be largely subjective.

Additionally, it can be challenging to get out of a timeshare opportunity once you are in one. Unfortunately, many bad companies do this purposefully, so you simply quit. As a result, it gives the industry a bad name. But don’t worry. Reputable timeshare exit companies are willing to lend a helping hand and do the complex work for you.

So before you go ahead and sign up for that timeshare in Cabo, here are
a few things you may want to consider.

First, timeshares can be good investments. People with stressful jobs and disposable income tend
to like vacationing as a way to escape from the harsh realities of their daily lives. But they may not
necessarily want to deal with the additional stresses of booking hotels, dealing with noisy tourists in
surrounding rooms, and paying through the nose for each and every night of this torture. So you should
have a ready marketplace when you go to sell your timeshare down the road. Of course, it doesn’t hurt
that you get to enjoy your shared property in the meantime.

The other bonus is that you’ll share all the expenses of ownership. So not only will you save on hotels
in most cases, you also won’t have to foot the entire bill for upkeep of a residence. And since the other
people involved in the timeshare will also be using the residence throughout the year you should never
have to arrive to a house that is covered in cobwebs (assuming everyone does their part to keep the
place clean). This is a great selling point that is undeniable. The cost of maintaining a property from
afar can be astronomical if you’re doing it [Read more…]
