Fall Flavors

New fall flavors from some of our favorite brands are here. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am a sucker for “seasonal flavors”- I’m not sure if it’s because I know I can only have them once a year, or that it’s because it enhances the season for me in some way, but I really look forward to and enjoy the flavor changes that come seasonally.

If you are in the mood for chocoloate, Godiva has some fun options, including the NEW GODIVA Limited-Edition Milk Chocolate Pumpkin Spice G CUBE. These square boxes are full of individually wrapped GODIVA truffles, in the festive “pumpkin spice” flavor that so many people look forward to- or look forward to making fun of, while they consume it in secret. Still feeling dessertish? Kraft Heinz just came out with two flavored whipped creams that pair perfectly with all sorts of your favorite foods. Reese’s & Hershey’s Whipped Cream Toppings now come in peanut butter and chocolate flavors. These are fun on your all your desserts like cookies or brownies, but are fun toppings on healthier desserts like fruit bowls, as well. Fun facts for parents- these whipped creams are made with 100% real cream from cows not treated with rBST growth hormone, and without high-fructose corn syrup, oil ingredients, and artificial sweeteners or flavors. For a more “grown up” treat, check out Harvest Pumpkin Ale from Samuel Adams. These fall inspired beers brewed by Samuel Adams are brewed with “real pumpkin and a blend of caramel and roasted malts to create a rich depth of malt flavor perfect for the crisp days of fall” (according to Samuel Adams). If you are into all things pumpkin spice, and want to “spice it up” a little more, this might be right up your alley. Not all of us are drinkers, but for those who like to indulge now and again, this would be a flavorful fall imbibement. Prices vary by market and by what count you’d like to purchase.

With winter on the way, and fall finally here (thank goodness for the end of that scorching summer heat!), we are going to be spending more time indoors. Keeping that in mind, here are some interesting and useful new items that you can use year round.

For your pets, check out HandsOn Gloves (in several colors and sizes, including for children). Get rid of all the excess hair and shedding, which will help your home as well as your allergies. Some dogs (and many cats) hate being brushed, but with the use of these gloves, it just feels like some petting and attention. You can use them in the water at bathtime, or dry. Get your kids to help out, and take care of the pets like they promised to- it’s not work and it’s very easy. It’s also effective, which many products can’t claim honestly. Fun Toys That Let You and Your Children be Creative

It can be hard to find something to do as a family, or something that will entertain the kids that doesn’t need to be charged. Getting kids away from screens can be challenging, but with toys like these, you won’t have to try too hard.

If you are a fan of puzzles, TCG has an excellent line that you will want to get your hands on. They have s many options of different photos, scenes, and piece counts, there is something for everyone (and every family ability). These are really beautiful, well crafted puzzles you will be tempted to frame (and in fact, we are framing one of ours). In addition, TCG has a campaign that benefits both Autism Speaks and Autism Speaks Canada since 2016. As puzzles help calm and stimulate some children and adults with Autism, it is a wonderful fit and a great cause to support. Have a creative teen or tween? Consider Juicy Couture Fruit Obsessions Bracelets and Juicy Couture Hair Candy Accessories- Juicy Couture is all the rage with the younger girls right now, and these definitely hit their mark in this house, let me tell you. My daughter was thrilled, couldn’t wait to get her hands on these kits, and was excited about the results. She wears them often, and I’m sure you will have similar results with your young fashionista. What is more fun then making your own accessories? Not much at that age. And these are definitely NOT the cheesy, kiddie kits from our childhood- these make high quality, really nice looking items. They look store bought, more like what you see adults creating on Etsy. Your child might also enjoy making his or her own blanket or hoodie blanket- these are both adorable. The Other F Word Series is Back With Season 2!

Last year I shared with you about The Other F Word, an edgy comedy about a group of friends who find that the angst of raising kids may be nothing compared to the angst of starting over after they are grown. The show, written and producer by Caytha Jentis, was met with so many rave reviews I’m thrilled they’ve just released Season 2! My only possible complaint is that it ended too soon but I loved being about to binge watch for free through Amazon streaming.

The Other F Word proves that we don’t have to be afraid of getting older – there’s nothing scary about “forty.” And these four friends certainly bring a fun, comedic perspective to the issues surrounding midlife for women. You’ll love the cast including Judy Gold, Steve Guttenberg, Gilbert Gottfried, Michael Boatman, Alysia Reiner and Nancy Giles. Plus, former Comedy Central EVP and comedian Judy Gold joins Jentis as an Executive Producer. The chemistry between these characters is brilliantly portrayed and highlights the importance of friendship at every age. With such an amazing group there’s no doubt Jentis has another hit season on her hands.

Jentis will say it’s not a success that she achieved on her own, however, as she enlisting the help of some wonderful writers and contributors. While Caytha Jentis wrote the show, she had help from other moms behind the scenes and women entrepreneurs. One of the scenes was co-written by Emmy award-winning tv writer Judy Rothman Rofe who authored Neurotic Parent, while the musical within the series is written by the award-winning playwriting team Pam Weiler Grayson and Alice Jankell.

What’s New at Dollar Shave Club

As a man, there are fewer things more mindbogglingly annoying as buying a razor. Many of them are locked up behind a counter, as well as being astronomically priced- but they are necessary evils.

Or so we thought- with the internet, there is now a way to get blades for an entire month for as little as $3. Dollar Shave Club is here with a great deal for anyone who shaves. As an introduction, prices are reduced so getting into the swing of using the club saves you money as well. Once up and running, it is possible to get refill blades every month then after delivered to you for as little as $3. But razors and handles aren’t the only shaving items available.

There are also components for every portion of your shave, such as a pre shave oil to rub into your skin, shaving special lathers, and/or a post shave balm to help keep that sensitive skin moisturized and healthy. One of the best parts is that there is no heavy scent. No flowers, no herbal scents, just a light clean scent that leaves you smelling fresh and well groomed.

A shave and a shower becomes much more of a cleansing event with your new shaving rituals. The oil worked nicely and I suggest it. Makes shaving a bit easier and less damaging to your skin. We also tried out the post shave balm, which smells nice and is a thin, quick absorbing skin cream. You may be asking yourself, well what if I don’t use that many razors a month? Well, for you there is the option to have a refill of blades delivered every other month as well as pausing and canceling the subscription at any point in time.
