Rosetta Translation Services

Speaking another language can be difficult when in a foreign country, especially if that particular country is quite different from your native language and culture. For a small taste of this, try walking into your local ethnic market, of a different ethnicity then yourself of course, and try going grocery shopping. This will give you an idea of a different culture without veering too far from home.

pic2I say to try this, because we all need to step out of our comfort zone sometimes and into another person ‘s shoes.  Those of us who take for granted our ability to understand everything, should try to remember that it’s not that easy for visitors or tourists.  For those of us who love to travel, this means us ourselves from time to time.  Hey, I don’t speak Slavic!  Let’s say you are in a foreign country and, God forbid, something horrific happens where you need medical records translated into another language or legal documents, even financial information. Who can you trust with these sensitive translation services? Well that is where translation companies like Rosetta Translations can be a huge help. They are located in London and specialize in legal, financial, technical and medical translations.  These translations can be tricky and involve sensitive information that you can’t trust with just anyone, but only with the most professional of services. Etymotic Kid EarPhones

Picture this, it’s a long car trip and your kids are playing on their various electronic devices. Hours of car ride progress.  Over the course of the ride you have heard Mario fall into a pit about 1,000 times and an Angry Bird launch 5,000 times at a minimum also you can now sing every note of the song for fruit ninja. What to do, other then turn these devices into road side litter? Headphones of course. But this can be a bit unnerving as well. Once you start to hear the sounds from their head phones now, you know the sound is up way too high and damage is being done to little ears which were fine just moments ago. The cheap ones are just that- cheap.  You get what you pay for, and they don’t last nor do they have great volume control. Why not upgrade your pair of headphones? There is a great set of earphones (that go into the ear canal) made by ETYKids that is also very easy to travel with.

Master Lock Offers Tips for Summer Home Safety

pic3

Home is where the heart is, and also, where the people and possessions most important to consumers reside. Yet, nearly half of North Americans (44 percent) don’t take any security precautions other than locking their windows and doors to keep these items safe.* With the start of summer and families more likely to be enjoying the outdoors — either at home or away — Master Lock is reminding consumers of simple security precautions to ensure their home remains a safe haven.

“Safety starts and ends at home,” said Rebecca Smith of Master Lock, a leading manufacturer of innovative safety and security solutions. “There’s no better time to incorporate safe practices into your family’s routine to ensure a safe and memorable summer.”

Master Lock offers its top six tips for home security:

1. Make Your Backyard a Safe Place – Remember to put garden tools and lawn mowers away in a locked place after use. Un-stored tools could cause a fall or tempt young children to use them as toys. Secure your shed or garage door with a high-security, weather-resistant lock, such as the Master Lock Magnum Laminated Padlock. Not only does this deter kids from using tools as toys, it also guards lawn equipment from theft.

2. Sleep Safely with Windows Open – Sleeping with open windows provides a cool breeze for pleasant rest and helps many people sleep better. Even better, it lessens the chance of succumbing to carbon monoxide poisoning, a dangerous nighttime killer. Unfortunately, it also provides easy access to your home for intruders. Before enjoying this summertime routine, take proactive measurers to ensure you do so safely. If you use a home security system (only 14 percent of North Americans do*), ensure it provides window security coverage. Otherwise, use a window blocking device that prevents windows from opening more than six inches, and ensure windows cannot be accessed from outside. While you’re sleeping, ensure all doors are locked, and safeguard patio doors from intruders with Master Lock’s Door Security Bar.

5 Benefits of Swimming Lessons for Young Children

prinny the swimming cat

Swimming is an essential skill for people to learn, no matter their age. Often, the best time to teach swim skills is when a child is young. Swimming lessons ensure that they learn in a safe, friendly, encouraging environment. Here are 5 benefits of teaching young children to swim through swimming lessons.

1. Safety. Knowing how to swim is very important when it comes to safety. Your child will likely be near water at one point or another. Even if they aren’t swimming, they risk slipping or being pushed into water. In case of this kind of situation, your child will know how to swim and stay afloat if they have taken swim lessons. This can give you peace of mind knowing they will be more likely to avoid a serious situation like drowning. In addition, many kids who don’t know how to swim and aren’t being supervised have been known to get into water to play with other kids. If they don’t know how to swim and enter deeper waters, they could easily panic and risk their lives. Although these are worst case scenarios, it is important that you prepare your child for encounters with water so they can participate in water activities safely with friends.

2. Fun and recreational. Swimming is also really fun! It gives kids time to be outdoors and away from their video games doing something active. They will be able to use up their energy while playing games, swimming different strokes, participating in Marco Polo and much more! This is a great summer activity to stay cool and refreshed as well.
