Diggerland – Family Fun in NJ

A fleet of amphibious 8-wheeled black-and-yellow vehicles, otherwise known as ARGOs, may be a rare site to see in the United States. Perhaps more rare, would be children and their families operating the all-terrain machines on an off road course.

The Argos are added as Diggerland’s 25th attraction, following the World’s Fastest Backhoe and JCB WorkMax UTVs that were introduced earlier in the construction theme park’s second season.

“The ARGO furthers our goal of providing one-of-a-kind entertainment for families visiting our park,” said Yan Girlya, co-owner of Diggerland USA. “Diggerland is the only place in America where kids and their families can operate heavy equipment; and now we’re the only place you can get behind the wheel of an ARGO.”

The construction-themed adventure park covers 14 acres of centrally located land in Camden County, NJ and offers visitors the opportunity to operate full size excavators, dumper trucks, and backhoes among a range of other heavy machinery in a safe, family-friendly environment.

Guests can operate the ARGOs as early as Friday, June 19 as Diggerland is now open everyday through Labor Day for the summer. The newest attraction seats four people; three guests and an operator and is driven along a fixed course in the park.

“We are always looking to add new attractions to our park,” said Ilya Girlya, co-owner of Diggerland USA. “We instantly knew the ARGO was a must-have. It’s like nothing we’ve ever seen before and we’re very excited to give our guests the chance to drive them.”

Disclosure- We received the below in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own and honest.

With the summer in full swing, there is only one treat to beat the heat. Ice cream, of course. But what to do when that sweet tooth starts to crave something a little extra?

twix4
Why not grab an ice cream bar treat? Some of the most recent additions to the ice cream world are new Twix Ice Cream Bars, Snickers Ice cream bars, Milky Way ice cream bars, and Starburst Sorbet bars. All of these bars sound absolutely delicious and unique. We had the pleasure of trying a few of them, and my son and husband loved them all. Especially the Twix variety, those were gone in a flash. Each TWIX® Ice Cream Bar features vanilla ice cream, gooey caramel and TWIX® cookie bits covered in a delicious chocolaty coating. For a satisfying treat that is perfect for sharing, try TWIX® Ice Cream Minis. These bars have 90 calories per mini bar and are available in a 12- pack. In our house, ice cream is a must especially in the summer months when heavy baked desserts are the last thing one would want at the end of a long, hot day. These new ice cream bars are perfect.
The other interesting treats are Snickers and Starburst. Snickers is delicious ice cream treat with real peanut butter ice cream, fresh roasted peanuts, amazing caramel and a rich chocolaty coating – delivering an unforgettable SNICKERS® Bar taste. For a satisfying treat that is perfect for sharing, try SNICKERS® Brand Ice Cream Minis with 90 calories per mini bar and are available in a 12-pack.
The Starburst are a fruity treat which are available in two refreshing fruity flavors – Strawberry and Orange. Available in 2.6-ounce 4-Packs and 2.6-ounce singles, STARBURST Brand Sorbet Bars pack- an exhilarating burst of strawberry flavor in a light and delicious bar.

Anti-aging body lotion

The first anti-aging body lotion for the U.S. retail mass market is being rolled out nationally by Sun & Skin Care Research, LLC (SSCR) under its new NO-AD Skin Care™ label.

pic4

NO-AD Prevent & Repair™ and NO-AD Prevent & Brighten™, which are packed with a premium blend of vitamins, antioxidants, and SPF 15 broad spectrum protection, are multifunctional products unlike any moisturizers sold in mass market outlets. Designed to promote more beautiful skin all over the body — not just on the face — each product is chock-a-block with powerful ingredients that repair, brighten, and prevent aging caused by cumulative daily sun damage.  These multi-functional products provide powerful anti-aging protection in three ways:

Incidental Sun Exposure

A new survey conducted by GfK Custom Research North America and commissioned by NO-AD Skin Care found that a majority of Americans mistakenly believe they receive most of their total lifetime sun exposure from extended outdoor activities like going to the beach. “Actually those activities account for a mere 20 percent of lifetime sun exposure,” said Brevard, Fla.-based dermatologist Dr. Richard C. Kirkpatrick. “In fact, 80 percent comes from daily incidental sun exposure, such as in driving to the store, walking the dog, or just sitting indoors next to a sunny window.”  Kirkpatrick stressed that incidental sun exposure accumulates incrementally and prematurely ages the skin.

SSCR CEO Stuart J. Straus observed that when most consumers think about “anti-aging protection,” they think of a product just for the face. “Beauty is more than face deep,” he said. “No matter how much attention you give your face, it’s the constant UV skin damage to your neck, chest, arms, and legs that can give away your age. It’s why you need to apply body lotion daily to any exposed skin. This need for total body skin care — an all-day, everyday, all-the-time, anti-aging lotion that delivers SPF 15 protection — is precisely why NO-AD jumped into the highly competitive skin care category.”

NO-AD Breaks Into Skin Care Category

Straus noted that, at 46 cents per ounce each, NO-AD Skin Care lotions cost half what competing SPF body lotions do — and yet those other lotions don’t contain NO-AD’s high-quality anti-aging ingredients. They will be available starting March 2015 at select Wal-Mart stores, walmart.com, drugstore.com, and HEB, as well as food, drug, and mass market retailers.

“This is a category breakout for NO-AD,” Straus said. “NO-AD’s new skin care line is the first of its kind — anti-aging body moisturizers with SPF 15 created expressly for the mass market. Leveraging its 50-year sun care heritage, NO-AD Skin Care is delivering more for less, in ingredients and innovation — and is proudly made in the USA.”

NO-AD Skin Care’s non-greasy, fast-absorbing formulas are dermatologist-tested and carry the Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of approval. NO-AD products are also PABA-free and are not tested on animals.

ZeroWater Tumbler

It’s always like that movie “Signs” up in here, my husband and son leaving water bottles, mugs, and cups of water all over the house.  Honestly, it’s mostly my husband.  My son just leaves his in his backpack or next to his bed.  The husband, now…..yeah, everywhere.  Now that its summertime, even outside isn’t safe from his weirdness.

I like to filter our water, through the water pitcher or with this cool little mini filter we have that fits on top of most cups and just drips right in.  We just found another good option, a filter you can take with you wherever you go (which makes it great for travel).

We just watched an episode where they were tracking Joan of Shark (really) and first a guy who lost an arm and leg to sharks wanted to go out in a kayak to attempt to clip a camera to a shark’s fin- until the shark tried to eat the kayak.  Yes.  Then a second guy allowed them to swing him out with this strange rope and pully system, and went right into the ocean- you know, where the sharks were swimming inches from him?  Arg!  Yeah, I jumped.  A lot.

Every year Shark Week takes fascinated viewers on a journey to the depths of the sea uncovering the secrets of the ocean’s top predator. Discovery’s longest-running programming event thrills fans of all ages who are fascinated by the often misunderstood shark. More than just a week-long ratings bonanza, Shark Week has become a pop culture phenomenon with a massive buzz factor.

pic5What’s new this year?  From plush sharks (available at Toys R Us for $9.99) to Sharkopedia: The Complete Guide to Everything Sharks a fun book that lets you learn everything there is to know about these awesome predators (available at: Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and DiscoveryStore.com for $19.99) and even towels to dry off after your dip in the “shark’s house”, LOL (the ocean, if you didn’t watch the video yet) available for $10-$15 at Target, there is something for every Shark Week lover.

My Thoughts

My son loved this sweet book, the illustrations and story are adorable.   It focuses on what good friends do and what makes a good friend.  Kids want to have great friendships, but can sometimes have a hard time making or keeping friends.  Maybe the child is bullied or feels bad about themselves.  This cute book gives positive images, thoughts, and ideas on friends and friendship.   This book would be good for children up to about 2nd grade.

You can grab this book on Amazon, Barnes and Nobel, and more.

Choose the Best Caster for You

When you need new casters, you are looking for more than just a wheel. You are looking for a tool that is dependable and works the way you need it to. Casters have become such and important and ingrained part o our daily lives, and many of us never even give them a second thought. To this end, there are several things that should be taken into account when you need casters for your business, office, or home.

Weight
The weight of the load to be carried is very important in choosing the perfect caster. Generally, the more weight you have on your loads, the larger the caster you are going to need. The easy way to determine the maximum weight of your casters is to multiply the capacity of each caster by the total number of casters to be used. This final number is your total weight and must be larger than your load weight. Be careful when looking at capacity ratings on some casters. These ratings were made using tests under much more ideal conditions than you will generally come across. It may be better to go slightly higher than what you expect to use.

Type of Flooring
Where your new casters will be rolling around will also play an important role in their dependability. If you will be working on smoother flooring free of spills and other obstacles, you may be able to get away with a smaller caster. If carpeting is present, you will want to make sure your new casters do not snag or rip up carpeting.

Another factor to look at with regards to flooring is damage to the floor. In warehouses and other businesses where concrete floors are more normal, a hard caster would be the better choice. Hard casters can scratch softer flooring types such as wood, but that concern is not as great with concrete. For wood floors, you may want to look at softer casters made with rubber. These casters cannot handle as heavy of loads, but they are much less likely to damage your flooring.

Work Environment
The area around your casters should be considered. In places where chemicals, steam, oil, animals fats, and other spills are present, stainless steel or even plastic casters should be considered.
