Summer is a busy time of year- for a lot of us, it’s also the most fun.  Kids are out of school, adults are planning vacations, pools are open, and it’s finally barbeque season. There’s not a whole lot better then a good barbeque, now is there? Not in my book, anyway.  Plus, it’s a good excuse for a get together.

While everyone in your home may like to do different things in the summer (maybe a beach, pool, or waterpark tops your list, while your spouse just wants to lay out in a hammock), it’s good to remember that the health needs of each family member are different and need to be kept in mind during daily activities.  As a mom, I know I worry about this, including oral hygiene.  One way I keep my family healthy is with Listerine Total Care.

So Cozy Kids Hair Supplies

I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for SoCozy. I received Target gift cards to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

So Cozy are a line of hair products for kids which are salon quality but meant for little heads, or in our case a little big head.  So Cozy is broken down into three general categories; Cinch, which are products that just work and work easily, Behave which are the stylizers of the crew, and Boo which is formulated to repel lice.  We tried out three of these products over the last few weeks.  In this time we got familiar with the Detangler and leave in conditioner, Boo lice prevention spray, and the 3 in 1 shampoo conditioner and body wash.

In general, my son’s hair is super curly as I am sure you can all see, so combing it can be a bit of a chore.  With the help of the Detangler, this was made a whole lot easier.  The Boo lice prevention spray also works quite well- and his class is having a lice outbreak at this time- literally, as I type.  With a recent outbreak in the little guy’s school, notes went home and parents were in a flurry of hair checking, but with Boo it is a simple strategic way to keep bugs away even when your little ones love giving everyone hugs.  Last but not least is the 3 in 1 shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.  This smells great and cleans ever better.  From soft, clean skin to shiny, silky hair the little guy thoroughly enjoyed the product.

Where are all the female superhero toys?

So, we were out looking for some Avengers toys recently, and my son is wondering why he can’t find a Black Widow Marvel Super Hero Masher.  I thought maybe they just hadn’t put it out yet, so I got my Google on and found that there is no such thing. She is also missing from all the Avengers packages of toys, the single action figures packages, and larger figurines.  What the heck?

Then he wanted a Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy.  No?  None of those either?  Um, these are major characters- want to explain why there are no toys available?  At least not in the local Target or Toys R Us as of this post.

I went through all my Toy Fair photos, and there just weren’t any- at least not in “masher”, Titan Hero, or Hulk Busters lines. You know, the popular variaties?  Nor in the “dress up” or role play items like masks or other “gear”.  Know who else was missing from the “masher” line?  There will soon be a Star Wars line.  Ask me where Princess Leia is?  Not. There.

He also pointed out that there is no Spider Girl or Spider Woman in the new Web Warriors toy series.  Black Widow was also missing for the “Avengers” Potato Head pieces. Part of the reason I didn’t notice the void is because I am not an avid superhero fan, and don’t read comics or watch the TV shows and movies much.  The other part of me just didn’t notice- which is sad.  I noticed them missing from the masher line, but thought perhaps it was something weird, like they didn’t want to cross genders maybe?  But they are crossing species, flora, robots, et all with humans- as long as they are all male trees, raccoons, robots, dinosaurs, etc. Actually, the first Jurassic Park movie had all female dinosaurs (you know, for control)- so maybe the new Jurassic World mashers are female?  Hm, lets find out. So, I’m thinking Gamora’s head on Hulk’s body isn’t the worst thing in the world, right?  They are both green, after all.
