Entenmann’s French Toast Soft’ees Donuts

NEW from Entenmann’s® are the French Toast Soft’ees –perfect for those on-the-go mornings or sleep-in Sundays. They are available now.

My husband smelled them through the box, and tore right into them.  He, my son, and his friend ate literally the whole box in one sitting- I never even saw a donut, lol. They were that intoxicating- and I kid you not- the whole box was devoured by the three of them.  Men, I swear, lol.

Take the Kids to Coney Island

Coney Island has been a go to spot for generations, each season changing slightly, adding more rides, keeping new and fresh while still appealing to the crowds of New York.

This season is no different, with a new ride open now (The Thunderbolt) and more on the way including a new roller coaster the fun keeps coming.

Coney Island is made up of something for everyone.  Just steps from the boardwalk, there is a beach with a clean shore and big open ocean.  For the animal lovers, there is the New York Aquarium just a little ways down, which also has a wonderful seal show that should not be missed.  For the adventurous types, there are big thrill rides at Luna Park which include 7 roller coasters like the classic wooden Coney Island Cyclone.  For the littler park goers, there are tons of attractions and rides at Luna Park like the Happy Swing and Magic Bikes.  For everyone, there is Deno’s Wonder Wheel, one of the biggest and most complex Ferris Wheels around.

CELEBRATE SPRING at IHOP with Two New Dishes

Some nights, we just get too busy to make dinner.  We get caught up in work, activities, what have you- and we eat out or order in.  Hey, it happens to the best of us now and again, right?  On busy weeknights, where to go?  We recently went to the local IHOP to try out some of the new flavors and food options they put out- we are fans of breakfast for dinner around this house.

Another cool thing about IHOP is that kids eat free after 4 pm- I would check your local restuaunt before assuming that, but it seems to be everywhere.   My son loves the pancakes- of course, the bear shaped chocolate chip ones, so they are super healthy, LOL- but once in a while they won’t kill anyone, right?  Covered in whipped cream and maraschino cherries, they are more like a dessert, which is what I think this 7 year old loves best about them (along with the shape, of course).

My husband tried the chicken and waffles, which he liked.  Salty and sweet, to satisfy both cravings.

IHOP® Restaurants created a new guest favorite when they introduced their delicious Brioche French Toast two years ago.  Since then, guests have looked forward to sitting down with their friends and families, ordering every new variety introduced, and enjoying how the different tangy and sweet fruit toppings heighten the flavor of these indulgent treats.

Applesauce And Fruit And Celery Oh My!

DISCLOSURE

This blog post is sponsored by Mott’s and SocialMoms. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.

Family life can be an interesting adventure. One of the most interesting is packing lunch for my son. He can be quite the unique individual. He is one of the few people I know who doesn’t like sandwiches. In the past we could sneak a peanut butter or jelly sandwich through, but only once a week and only when cut into a silly shape with no crust. The ritual was annoying, and he whined anyway so early morning lunch making was quite difficult. Considering options for packed lunches can be limited, what to give him? We found that cold cut roll ups were good, as were cheese bites (cubed cheddar cheese). This forced us to be creative with lunch, but luckily he likes soup, fruits, and vegetables. I don’t have time to play on Pinterest for 3 hours a day to make him sushi snack bunnies, so we’re creative – not artistic.

Learn Better with Understood.org

Not every child learns the same way.  There are many different ways kids learn, and when a child has problems learning in the classroom, there are ways to help them succeed. Do you know the signs of learning and attention issues ?

pic6

In the U.S., 1 in 5 children struggle with learning and attention issues.  These kids are as smart as their peers, and with the right strategies and support, they can succeed in and out of the classroom.  But parents sometimes feel alone in their search for support and information about what they can do to help their child academically, socially and emotionally.

My own son is struggling with reading- he has an incredible vocabulary, good comprehension skills, and is great at math and science- but reading is a real struggle for him.  Not every child learns the same way or at the same pace, and that’s OK.  As a teacher and a mother, I know it will all even out in the end, and that there are many ways of teaching and of learning.  Children learn in many ways, and the younger you identify your child’s strengths and learning styles, the better off they will be.

Understood.org is a free, one-stop, easy-to-use online resource and community designed to empower parents of children ages 3-20 with learning and attention issues.

Resources are available for parents at all stages of this journey – those who don’t yet know why their child is struggling, as well as those who have been dealing with these issues for some time.

Visit Understood.org to experience “Through Your Child’s Eyes,” a series of interactive simulations and videos that enable parents to experience firsthand how seemingly simple tasks become complicated when seen through the eyes of a child with reading, writing, math, organization or attention issues.

It can be overwhelming when you find that your child needs extra help, but it doesn’t have to be.  You can find the resources you and your child needs to get them back on track quickly and painlessly.

Rock your Legs With Schick @SchickHydroSilk #rockyourlegs

Do you have a beauty routine?  I think we all do, to some degree. Mine is usually fairly uncomplicated, I’m a low maintenance kind of girl. That doesn’t mean that I don’t have things that I need to do in order to feel my best!

IMG_0006

As moms, we sometimes neglect ourselves.  I have heard people say they sometimes don’t brush their teeth or hair before running the kids out to car line or school- and while I get that mornings are hectic, I think we need to respect ourselves a little bit more then that, yes?

pic7

Brushing my teeth, rinsing, and flossing (yes, I’m like that) are included in my morning and night routine, as is brushing my hair and washing my hands and face. I use a daily moisturizer with sunblock for the day on my face and neck, and a night time cream before bed. Lotion, of course, pretty much all over- I get so dry and itchy otherwise. And of course, shaving so I don’t look like Chewbacca.

I recently tried out some new Schick shaving products, because my old razor really needed an upgrade.  I tried the Skintimate Strawberry Tangerine, Hydro Silk Trimstyle Razor, Intuition Revit Moisture Kit, and Hydro Silk Women’s Disposables. I have to say, my legs feel silky and smooth!  I love the Skintimate Strawberry Tangerine, it feels so nice as you lather it onto your legs (and underarms, LOL).
