How to Setup a Whole Insert Coupon File (Couponing 101)

Looking for the the easiest way to organize coupons? I would recommend the whole insert method.
What is the Whole Coupon Insert Filing Method?
A coupon insert includes all of the sheets of coupons contained within one booklet, found in the Sunday newspaper. With this filing method, coupons are filed by the whole insert, without clipping any coupons.
Is the Whole Coupon Insert Method for Me?
The advantages of using the whole coupon insert method are quick setup, no clipping coupons until you’re ready to use them, using a coupon database to find coupons, ease of tossing expired coupons, and low weekly maintenance. The disadvantages of the whole coupon insert method include not having an individual coupon clipped if you happen upon an unadvertised sale, and a bulky system that is hard to carry around. For my current season of life, the whole coupon insert filing method is my preference. The pro’s outweigh the con’s.
Supplies Needed to Make a Coupon Insert File
- File box (or other box)
- Hanging files (or folders or other divider)
- Labels or tabs
- Marker
I would estimate that all supplies would cost less than $15.
Step by Step Guide to Set Up a Whole Insert Coupon File
- Gather inserts each week.
- Use a marker to write the date on the front of the inserts.
- Create a file, folder, or divider for each week.
- Keep Smart Source (SS), Red Plum (RP), Proctor & Gamble (PG), etc. inserts together.
- File!
Preparing for a Shopping Trip Using the Whole Insert Coupon Method
When planning a shopping trip, look for deal match-ups online and use online coupon databases such as MoneySavingMom or CouponMom.
- Pull insert (see image above of how to read the date on a coupon insert).
- Clip desired coupons.
- File back.
Why I Love the Whole Insert Filing Method

suit your purpose before hitting the road for one of Europe’s premier cultural destinations.
Munich is the capital of Bavaria, and only half-jokingly referred to as Germany’s secret
capital. It lies almost in the dead centre of Europe and has over the centuries overshadowed
its often very powerful neighbouring cities such as Nuremberg, Augsburg and Ingolstadt. It
is now the main metropolis in the south of Germany and is easily reached on that country’s
excellent autobahns by simply following the signs.
In fact, it’s difficult once on the road to avoid getting sucked in to its wealth of great old
buildings, cosmopolitan atmosphere, vibrant nightlife and brilliant monuments and museums,
not to mention some of the finest beers in the world.
Munich has for centuries been a centre for the arts, and throughout the Baroque and Rococo
periods fantastic masterpieces were created here, the rival of anything coming out of Italy
and France at the time.
A fresh, Neo-Classical style took over during the 19th century and it became known as
Athens on Isar. The Greek and Roman sculptures collected by King Ludwig I that can still
be seen on Konigsplatz and Ludwigstrasse, and in the Glyptothek, bear witness to the
architectural mood of the times which dominated not just Germany but the whole of Europe.
The Munich Academy of Fine Arts was renowned in the 19th century as being one of the
finest art schools in Europe, and the opera houses, theatres and museums to be found
