Handmade Jewelry, Review and Contest! @Blessed_Elements One of a Kind Art

One of my favorite bloggy buddies has created her own storefront– creating some lovely, one of a kind, handmade jewelry. Not only is the jewelry fun, funky, and unique, but it also celebrates things that Grace herself holds dear- green and natural living, inspiring others, and creativity.

The Blessed Elements storefront has a wide selection of options- from sculpted clay, to macrame, Chokers, Fused Glass Jewelry Sets, Bohemian Pins and more-the unique jewelry created by Grace adds a touch of fun and flair to any outfit- I love my “Green Man” for casual days, and it always gets plenty of smiles and questions. Every time I wear it, I am asked where I got it, and if it was handmade. I should carry Blessed Elements business cards on those days, haha!

The items in the store are crated with love and care, and Grace is an ethical person and businesswoman, striving to give you excellent customer care and service, fantastic product, and a reasonable price that [Read more…]

@GlassDharma Straws- Review and Contest (AND a great company)

When Little Man was still drinking out of bottles, he became addicted to drinking out of straws and ever since we have had a drawer full of all sizes and shapes of straws. Through the years, good lord, its been years!!!! where did the time go?, we have learned which straws are good and strong and which ones are weak and get nasty quickly. This took a real long time and I wish we found out about these glass straws from Dharma Glass sooner!

They are straws made of the same glass type Pyrex uses, Borosilicate glass, in order to guarantee strength, clean ability and usability. They can be cleaned in the dishwasher, soaked in warm water, or cleaned with the cleaning brush. The straws are made extra thick and strong so your little ones or big ones won’t hurt themselves. A little tip, try them out next time you are having some adult time with friends, everyone loves watching their frozen drink flow through these brightly colors straws.

The guarantee really is as good as it gets: “If, for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, click here for instructions on returning your straw(s). We will issue your choice of an exchange or a refund for the total amount of the items you are returning. (excluding shipping)” The form is a simple one and asks for your invoice, if you have it, the straw itself, packed as best it can be to further prevent breakage and loss of straw in the mail and of course whether you would like a refund or an exchange.

I love how many sizes and shapes that you can get with- the options are endless- there is even a Bubble Tea size- IMPOSSIBLE to find!
My straws are tough- they survived Hurricane Irene, and the company was really cool about everything. I can honestly tell you that I feel good recommending them to you- the people are fabulous and couldn’t be nicer, the straws are high quality and better for the environment then plastic, made in the USA- there is nothing not to love.

One of you will win a $25 gift certificate!

How To Keep Your Family Safe- Tips- AND WIN MasterLock Security Products

More than13 million Americans become victims of crime every year*. While much is done reactively when crimes are committed, Master Lock, the industry leader in safety and security, is encouraging consumers to begin practicing basic daily crime prevention tactics during Crime Prevention Month this October.
Master Lock has created a series of simple tips to help consumers change their safety mindset, be aware of their surroundings and take small precautions to stay safe during Crime Prevention Month and beyond:

1. Lock everything up. It is essential to keep your home, vehicles, valuables and family safe at all times. Whether you’re at home or away for the day, all points of entry should be locked and more valuable items should be stored in secure areas. Consider utilizing such Master Lock security products as key safes, locking storage boxes and padlocks for extra protection. Every family member, including children, should know how to secure everything from windows and doors to garages and sheds.

2. Limit availability of personal information. When on the go, carry only what you need. Do not keep social security cards, birth certificates or passports in purses or wallets. If possible, remove your name from marketing lists to reduce identifying junk mail and shred credit card offers that still come through to decrease the chance that your personal information could be accepted on your behalf by a stranger. You may even want to consider storing confidential data and information in a secure, online location where only you have access, such as the Master Lock Vault.

3. Start a neighborhood watch. Your street, parks and neighborhood should be an area where you and your family feel most comfortable. Forming relationships with neighbors can ensure there are additional watchful eyes on your home. Take this one step further by mobilizing a group of surrounding homeowners, encouraging each other to keep your eyes and ears open for anything suspicious and arranging regular patrols to increase neighborhood activity. In many cases, local police departments or PTAs will have resources to help you get started.

4. Trust your instincts. If a specific person or place causes you to feel uneasy, avoid the situation by removing yourself completely, and alert authorities if a suspicious person is lurking in your neighborhood.

5. If a crime occurs, report it! Don’t be afraid or embarrassed [Read more…]
