Goal Weight Attempt with #NSNation @Nutrisystem

Most of you know I have been trying to lose weight for about a year and a half now, and I was doing a pretty good job of it for about a year. Then, I got sick. Like, for real sick, not just the flu sick. All those medications do some terrible things to your body, and while I didn’t gain back all my weight- far from it- I did put some back on, and certainly didn’t lose any more. My muscle tone is down as well, and I have some more work to do. YAY. (ha.)

What to do? Go back to what worked really well for me, Nutrisystem and regular exercise. It’s not going to be easy, I am not in perfect health yet- but nothing worth having is ever easy, is it? My heath is worth fighting for, and hey- I still want to look good! [Read more…]

Yoga for Cancer Recovery Workout DVD

Cancer treatment is a big deal. During and after there is a lot of stress, both on the body and mind. Exercise has been proven to help lower stress and help the body deal with trauma in a healthy way. A great form of exercise, and one of my personal favorites, is yoga. A new DVD by Ocean Soul Yoga brings this exercise program to your living room with Yoga for Cancer Recovery. The DVD is hosted by Clair Petretti, a breast cancer survivor who felt it was necessary to release a yoga program which would help bring those recovering from cancer a helping hand in their struggle with the disease. Ms. Petretti found practicing and teaching yoga to be an important part of her journey to being healthy and wants [Read more…]

Pro Dunks Hoops – Why Buy Anywhere Else?

Do your not so little ones love basketball?
Want to turn that black top drive way into a half court after school playground?

Take a look at: Pro Dunks Hoops. They offer lots of options for any backyard style.
They of course have the classic garage roof model, the Roof King. These are great but don’t really work for some people. A more effective option would be the Hercules Fixed-Height model. This one comes in two heights and two different backboard sizes to give you lots of options.

The top of the line model is the Pro Dunk Adjustable model. This unit has an adjustable height and can be brought down with a crank to a height of 5 ft, so just about everyone can play and most can even dunk. There are four options, 3 different heights and the two top tier models have full size regulation backboards.

There are quite a few important factors to remember when buying a basketball hoop, and this site [Read more…]

EatSmart Kitchen Scale Reivew and C0NTEST!

The holidays are coming along faster and faster. Holidays bring around family and very good food. I can’t wait for dessert myself. There are always so many wonderful treats it is very difficult to stick to diets and such. MY opinion is, one day will not hurt that badly, just do not go too nuts and just right back on the diet train right after the holidays.

To help with this consider measuring out portions and not overdoing it. The EatSmart kitchen scale is prefect for this. With proper portions just about anything is OK. Am I saying use a quarter stick of butter on a bagel is a perfectly healthy meal? No, I am not. Half a teaspoon of butter on a half of a whole grain bagel along with some fruit and low fat milk would make a decent breakfast. But all portions should be measured out to keep from over doing it. Take a look at this scale over at EatSmart. It is small easy to use, exact and runs on AAA batteries. These batteries are included with the scale as well, a nice touch. Another great usage of this scale, is postage calculation. That extra ounce can cost a pretty penny when sending out box after box to relatives around the country. Maybe not what they had in mind- but the hubs keeps stealing it to do this….Men.

EatSmart has also been doing a donation drive this year titled Charity of the Month. For every click through and purchase on Amazon through their site a certain percentage of the purchase is donated to a different charity each month. December’s charity is the Make A Wish Foundation. I think this is a great idea and gets consumers donating without really changing much.

One of you can win this scale! Here is how to enter-

And This Week on #NSNation @Nutrisystem

I have just about nothing to say this week, as I was on travel. I ate only my Nutrisystem breakfast bars, but I ate regular food for the rest of the day, as I had mentioned was the plan in last weeks update. I do though, bring my workout DVDs and resistance bands, and between that and all the walking that travel usually brings, I can usually keep the food-monster in check, LOL. I had a .5 lb gain this week. Cest la vie. I will knock it off by next week, by going back to my regular diet and exercise program. Life is life, and that can get in the way of losing weight sometimes. I’m not going to go nuts about it, since I know that I will get there, and I know I am doing alright (especially considering [Read more…]

And This Week on #NSNation @Nutrisystem :) 30 LBS GONE!

OK, so last week was kind of a wash- with nothing lost, and .5 gained (cest la vie! ‘Twas Thanksgiving, lol)
But hey- guess what. My total weight loss with this weeks 2.5 lb weight loss is……30 lbs! (Since on Nutrisystem).

(I’ll get you a better picture for next week- it’s rough with winter- too many bulky clothes to see what you lost!) BUT I got back into my favorite Pea Coat, that I have not worn since before my son was born- I took a photo of that today, so I will post it next week πŸ™‚

Yeah, man! OK, so I didn’t even really try to stick with the Nutrisystem for Thanksgiving- but I knew I wouldn’t, so I only did Nutrisystem breakfasts and I did a lot, a lot of exercise last week. This past week I have gone back to my regular schedule, [Read more…]
