Win Milkman Low Fat Powdered Milk

If your husband is like mine, you never really know when you run out of something until you go to grab it and it’s somehow just not there.  Is it on the list?  Nope.  Was it ever?  Of course not, that would make too much sense, buying a new one before you ran out. Silly rabbit.  One thing I like to do is have non-perishable options available for things we use often and run out of on occasion, like milk.  Powdered is a good choice, as it lasts a long time and is easy to use (and yes, tastes fine as well).

No, I didn’t tell him to pose like that- he thought that the “kiss of cream” slogan was funny.  He’s an odd duck, alright…LOL. He liked the milk in his cereal, but we are going to save the rest for “next time” that we run out of milk, which is sure to happen.  We might also use it for an upcoming camping trip- regular milk just won’t due when you are lacking electricity to keep it cold.

Once a beloved favorite on supermarket store shelves, Milkman ceased production in 2011. The company has since been flooded with requests from loyal consumers for its return. Due to a barrage of consumer requests via email, calls and letters, the company has brought Milkman back for consumers to enjoy. Milkman low fat powdered milk can now be purchased online at Milkman.com, Amazon.com, and at REI.com.

Preoccupied With 1985? It’s OK, So Are We

It would be hard not to notice that our favorite toys from the 80’s are making a comeback- some of them really never went away, but are suddenly popping up everywhere, some are back seemingly from the grave.  Either way, this 80’s baby is now giving her child the same toys she grew up with (and usually getting a kick out of doing so).

product 10 12 14 001Lets start with Care Bears – a personal favorite of yours truly, and happily they didn’t distort the bears too much when they brought them back for a new generation.  So many times, you see the new versions of the toys and they are tall, way too skinny, with super long legs, big heads, and giant eyes.  Thank goodness some bears know how to “keep it real”.  The new bears are ultra plush, extra soft, and come in several sizes. The Care Bears continue their mission to teach kids responsibility, caring, sharing, empathy for others, and being a good friend. This is a big job for a little bear- good thing they still have magic “belly badges” should they need a little help from Care-a-lot. Available from $3-$25 in stores like Target and Amazon.com

product 10 12 14 018Doodle Bear was a favorite of nearly every kids I knew- I never had one, but always coveted them. Now that they are back again, you bet your bottom dollar I was ready to check them out and see how my own child liked them.  Doodle Bears are sweet and cuddly bears that you can create your own artwork on, then just wash and have a brand new canvas. When you wash the bears, place them in a pillowcase or “delicates” bag, and hang to dry. You can get the original Doodle Bear in three colors or the Glow Doodle Bear (where kids can doodle with light).  Doodle Bears each come with special washable markers (meant ONLY for Doodle Bear), Glow Doodle Bear also includes a magic light pen and stampers. Available for $20 and up at stores like Target and Amazon.com

Enter to WIN K’nex Building Fun

No matter what your expertise in gaming there is always another way to interact with you digital entertainment. Either through more games in the series, plush based on characters or construction sets to further expand your in the game setting. The later being my personal favorite because then little ones can use all kinds of other characters to join in on the fun. Today we are looking at a few of the newest K’nex toy lines associated with video games. The games are Super Mario 3d world, Plants vs Zombies and Titanfall. The list may seem to have big difference between one another but one of the common threads between them is fun and K’nex.

K’nex are America’s number one building set with unique shapes and snapping pieces with bring your imagination to life. Not only are there bricks and struts to use but also big flat swatches that almost look like stretched plastic to hold the pieces together. From Mario’s platforms to a walking zombie-fied football helmet the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

Etymotic Kid EarPhones

Picture this, it’s a long car trip and your kids are playing on their various electronic devices. Hours of car ride progress.  Over the course of the ride you have heard Mario fall into a pit about 1,000 times and an Angry Bird launch 5,000 times at a minimum also you can now sing every note of the song for fruit ninja. What to do, other then turn these devices into road side litter? Headphones of course. But this can be a bit unnerving as well. Once you start to hear the sounds from their head phones now, you know the sound is up way too high and damage is being done to little ears which were fine just moments ago. The cheap ones are just that- cheap.  You get what you pay for, and they don’t last nor do they have great volume control. Why not upgrade your pair of headphones? There is a great set of earphones (that go into the ear canal) made by ETYKids that is also very easy to travel with.

Most of you probably know by now that I absolutely love bows and headbands for my girls. They love to wear them and are very picky about which ones to wear with what outfits. I was so happy to receive a few new awesome bows and a headband to add to my collection from Via Cacao.

About Via Cacao:

Via Cacao was created by Vanessa. In 2012, after taking design courses in patterns, color, and graphics, she started creating playful hair accessories and gifting them to her friends around Seattle. Their enthusiastic responses led her to launch Via Cacao, which now offers a line of ultra-modern leg warmers, tights, and mismatched socks in addition to hair clips.

Via Cacao uses high-quality materials like Peruvian pima cotton in vibrant colors and quirky patterns to create pieces that make a statement and defy dress codes. After all, fashion is a form of expression that deserves to be cultivated in even the youngest savvy dressers.

The true inspiration is their children, Ignacio and Alessia, who truly make this venture worthwhile.

Transformers Turn 30!

This past weekend, we had the chance to go to a birthday party- a rather unique birthday party, for our “friends” the Transformers.  These are toys from the 80’s come back again, first my husband loved them, and now my son does.  But really, what’s not to love?  These are vehicles that transform into robots that battle- every boy’s dream.  Now, however, there are even dinosaur versions, boxing versions, versions that can be built- and even more then meets the eye.  So how do you celebrate a birthday party for Transformers?  In style, of course!

P1020026Here is my fella, playing “Pin the ROAR on the Grimlock”, a new dinosaur Transformer.

P1020001Father and son, building Kre-O Transformer creations. There were tons to choose from, and options available depending on skill level and ability to stay focused.

P1020017These one step changing Transformers are easy to use and easy to change from vehicle to bot- which this mom loves. I am never good at changing them, my son has always been faster then I am, haha.
