While I am on the topic of taking time, why don’t we head on into another similar topic? Time for you and your significant other. There is never a better time to connect then the present! (And speaking of presents, why don’t you give them one they will remember? Head on over HERE and take a look, see what you think may tickle his/her fancy!) Spending time with your spouse or significant other is crucial to both of your happiness, which is crucial to the well being of your marriage/relationship. You need the time to be in love, without baby bottles, ninjas, or princesses. Yes, those sweet little angles of yours need 90% of your time, and you are happy to give it. But take a few [Read more…]
Just a thought….

Just a thought.
Another week begins. The holidays are coming ever closer, and time is crushing down on us. Time to shop, time to cook, time to see the kid’s Holiday Show, concert, religious play, (and oh yes, make or find the costumes!) , bake the cookies, have the party, send the cards, etc. (Let’s not forget the daily grind of everyday life and all of it’s necessities, as well!) Blah blah. No thanks! Yes, I will do all those things, but when I am good and ready. I have been talking to so many people who are FREAKING out right now- and I understand why, but this is supposed to be fun. And if it’s not? Don’t do it. You will live, and so will your kid, if you miss a parade or a party or you are not in 3 plays. Don’t turn into a Mom-Zilla. The holidays can really suck the life out of you if you let them, so don’t let them. People might get mad at me all the time- but I really don’t care. Sorry! I do 90% of the things thrown at me, and do it with a smile. I’m a good mom, I work hard, I get good grades, I volunteer, I help with family, church, etc- But I just don’t have the time for the other 10%, so they and God will just have to forgive me for being a human. I confess, I can only do so much. And I am not going to cry about not being able to do more. I am at peace with my mortal soul, LOL. In the words of a famous sailor- “I am’s what I am’s and that’s all that I am’s”. You said it, Mister!
Hang in there, Ladies (and gentlemen!), and remember- it’s OK to say No. (Really!)
Love to you and yours,
Samantha
Holiday Gift Guide -Banana Gaurd Review!
November 29, 2010 by 5 Comments
Banana Guard is the most interesting set of items I have reviewed in a while! As soon as I happened to see the Banana Guard, I had to contact the company to see if they wanted a review. I was thrilled when they said yes! I am not exactly sure why, but I was super, super excited by this. I felt like I was about 5 years old (maybe younger) with the Banana Guard. It is just super fun, LOL. I was giddy when it got to my house, actually giddy. Ok, let me tell you about the product, haha. It is made so that the banana goes inside it, making sure it does not get bruised.
With over a million sold, the patented Banana Guard has allowed people of all ages to enjoy the world’s most favorite fruit at work, school or play without the worry that it will become smashed and inedible! Remarkably this device fits over 90% of commercially available bananas. How? Highly curved bananas can be straightened slightly to fit into upper curve and very straight bananas can be bent ever so slightly to fit into the mold.
And while I do understand all this, and I agree that it does, I like it more for the “fun factor”. It really is just fun! Again, I can’t really put my finger on it, but it just is! It doesn’t fit all bananas, but does fit most of them. I like all their other guards, too- they have a S’wich Guard , a Froot Guard, and [Read more…]
Holiday Gift Guide- Executive Gift Shoppe Review and Giveaway!
November 29, 2010 by 134 Comments
I recently found a really fun place to shop! A friend of mine sent me an email with a link to a really fun site with some great gifts on it- Executive Gift Shoppe! Executive Gift Shoppe has great gifts for anyone on your list. Men, women, business contacts, etc. They have some really nice items, and the price is right! They have really great Flasks and Business Card Holders.
I was sent one flask and one business card holder for review. The quality is great, and I was not disappointed at all. Both were for women. I kept the business card holder, and it has been in my purse since the day I got it. It has held up nicely, even after the 15+ hour drive to and from Chicago and countless uses since. They have many varieties of business card holders, including those meant to sit on a desk. I like mine, it’s different! And look at the bling factor, LOL, it’s almost like jewelry.
As I am not a drinker, and my husband was not about to use a pink flask, LOL, I gave it to a friend of mine to try out and tell me what she thought. While I can tell you it was pretty and I liked the look of it, I couldn’t tell you if it was useful or worked well- but she can!
Here is what she has to say-
-Perfect size! She loved that it fit nicely into her purse, and was small enough for her to sneak in to a wedding that did not provide alcohol, lol.
-Attractive! (I agree!) She liked that it was made for a woman. Most are plain silver or black, or more masculine. This was the first feminine one she has seen.
-Well made, didn’t leak, didn’t leave a “taste” in her drinks. My husband has a flask that left a metallic taste, so I was curious if this did as well. [Read more…]
