Fruit of the Loom Weekend Wear

Fruit of the Loom have been known as the makers of underwear and undergarments for men, women, and children.  Soft where you want it to be and supportive where you need it to be.  Not only is their clothing of good quality, but also classic which can be used to accentuate other pieces or worn together in a casual setting (perfect weekend wear).  Sweat pants and sweat shirts may not make appearances on French runways or fashion shows, but on a chilly day, nothing beats them when paired with some fuzzy slippers.  They also make perfect clothing for working outside or doing some computer work such as layering up before playing in the snow or digging out after one of those wonderful snow storms (that we are beginning to get accustomed to unfortunately).

 sweatshirt

Fruit of the Loom makes active wear for everyday living, including t shirts, muscle shirts, fleece and sweats.  These last two categories are particularly important in the winter and fall.  All can be used to layer up for additional warmth with the convenience of peeling off layers when not needing.  The sweat pants and sweat shirt come in six colors including black, grey, and duffel bag green.  The green is very interesting but my personal favorite is grey.  The newest addition to the zipper down Fruit of the Loom sweatshirt is a media pocket.  In addition to the two large side pockets there is now a smaller vertical pocket which can fit a classic ipod or smart phone easily and is deep enough for the electronic device to stay put.

The clothes themselves are built to last with strong stitching and quality materials.  The sweat shirts retail from 12.99 to 14.99 depending on style and size.  The sweat pants retail from $10.99 to $12.99.

·         Reserveage CocoaWell Cocoa Powder – Unsweetened, 8 oz (*Suggested retail price: $19.99)

This mixable powder can be added into a hot or cold drink to offer delicious nutritional supplements to support health, energy and body wellness. CocoaWell by Reserveage Organics takes its inspiration from one of the world’s healthiest cultures – the Kuna indigenous people of coastal Panama. Last year, the Kuna chiefs and CocoaWell signed a landmark sustainable business agreement – the first in the Kuna’ s history – to assist CocoaWell in promoting their sacred cocoa tradition.

This is more bitter then typical powdered chocolate drinks. It was good, but know that it is not the same thing- it would be like comparing yogurt to ice cream.  Both are good in their own rights, but you don’t want to eat one expecting the other  🙂

·         Spectrum Essentials Ground Flaxseed Orchard Fruit Blend *NEW*

Spectrum Essential’s popular ground organic flaxseeds now include a delicious blend of orchard fruit apples and peaches with the spice of cinnamon. Known to support digestive health, this product adds a great flavor to many meals.

In addition, YumEarth Organics Fruit Snacks are now available at Costco Northwest beginning in February,  7,000 Walgreens since the end of2013, and will be in Target for Valentine’s Day.  It is becoming easier and easier to get your hands on this candy.

organic candy

Yum Earth treats were created with a few ideals in mind; “YumEarth is dedicated to making delicious treats with all-natural ingredients, no artificial colors, no artificial flavors, no high fructose corn syrup, and no major allergens, such as gluten, nuts and dairy”. This can be quite a lofty goal considering most candy is high fructose corn syrup wrapped in an artificial flavor, artificial color shell. The flavor of which is often not found in nature. But Yum Earth flavors are fruity and sweet, with a much more subtle flavor instead of the red that tastes like red, you get very very cherry which actually tastes like cherry. The ingredients or rather the amount of junk not included in a Yum Earth products is quite extensive. Makes you really think about what goes into your foods and snacks.

As you all probably know by now, my daughters are all about their baby dolls. I am pretty sure that we don’t go anywhere or do anything with out a baby in tow. The Alyssa 18″ doll from Adora dolls has been the perfect addition to our family.

About Adora Dolls:

The Adora story began twenty years ago, where from humble beginnings, they set out with a big goal. That goal was to create high quality handcrafted toys that make the world a happier place. Starting with it’s littles ambassadors – kids.

Each Adora product is a true work of heart, made of the finest materials by their team of designers, seamstresses, artists, sculptors, and manufacturers. They are a toymaker, but they do like to think of themselves as makers of play, of happiness and memories that last a lifetime.

Designed by Kids for Kids Program:

This awesome program is made to go along with the 18″ dolls. This new program will annually feature one “Young Designer” that will work alongside Adora’s design team throughout the creative process of designing an outfit for their 18″ Friends line of dolls. The final outfit and its Young Designer will be featured in the Adora catalog and the outfit will be available for purchase online and in stores. In addition, the chosen Young Designer will get to pick a favorite charity of theirs that they can give a financial donation to on behalf of Adora.

Glitzi Globes Starter Kit

Got a girl that loves animals? How about all things pink and sparkly? Check out Glittzy Globes, a kit that lets your child create her own snow glob accessories.

Not for kids under 3, or for those who mouth everything, the Glitzi Globes Starter Kit comes with five globes kids can make themselves. They can design these glittery Globes by using the included dome maker (this looks sort of like an egg slicer, but with no blades obviously) that steadies their globe and hands as they add different characters and charms, as well as a “glitter pellet”. It has a little bottle that can be filled with water and is the right size (and colors, of course, to coordinate) to fill the globe and lock the base into place by pressing both ends together. The Glitzi Globes Starter Kit includes the water bottle, four snow domes, four bases, four pop sticks, one bag tag for displaying Globes, 12 floating charms, five glitter tablets, four characters and one instruction booklet.

$18, Toys R US

Fun Toys For Boys

New Year, New Toys?  If you are like me, yes- definitely!  LOL  Here are a few of my top picks for boys.

Transformers Rescue Bots Beam Box

There is a surge of video game themed toys recently.  Not only are they video game themed, but they take your toy and bring them into the game.  Hasbro has joined the fray with Transformers Rescue Bots Beam Box.  This new game/toy is meant for the younger crowd but is still fun and will keep everyone entertained.

Rescue Bots are one of the newest lines of Transformers, created for smaller hands, and with less intricate parts.  The unit comes with a controller and one figure, Optimus Prime. When put inside the system, Optimus is your main character in the game.  There are five games to play as Optimus, all of which are easy to control and have simple control schemes.  These games are meant for 3 to 7 year olds

The starter set containing Optimus and the console itself retails for 49.99, with additional figures retailing at 6.99.  Both are available in just about every toy store and online- batteries required.

The Ugglys Pug Electronic Pet

My son’s new favorite toy is completely gross- on purpose.  But really, it’s disgusting- and my husband (and every male that has seen it (whether he is 5, 35, or 85) has enjoyed it a little too much, laughing as if they were watching Comedy Central. I’m not in any way exaggerating. “The Ugglys Pug Electronic Pet” is all about bodily functions and the noises they make- it burps and passes gas. How can it get any better, you ask?  Well, your child (spouse, father, whatever) can control the timber of said gas as well as manipulate the sounds and decide how long it will create this sound (in 30 varieties) for your auditory pleasure with the “warp feature” on it’s collar.  For added insanity, it will ring like a telephone or buzz like a bee at random. Why, you ask? Because boys think it’s funny.  Also- it’s a hand puppet, which all kids love. $35, Toys R Us.

Sesame Street Live

My Thoughts:

My daughters were completely amazed with the show. They were entertained for the entire hour and a half. They sat there in awe. It was so fun to see both of them completely into the show. I also enjoyed watching the girls singing along with the characters and recognizing who was coming on screen each moment. The girls enjoyed the show while we were there and having been talking about it nonstop ever since.
