Getting Your Big Kid Ready For Christmas

As the children were nestled all snug in their bed….you noticed their bedding was getting a little shoddy looking. Or maybe your little one’s Pooh Bear bedspread no longer fits the bill. Either way, with the holidays upon us, and company coming over you want to replace it sooner rather then later. I was in the same boat as well (I have a tough time admitting that my son is growing up, what can I say), and decided it might be time to pick up something a little more his speed.

He loves his new SpongeBob SquarePants Twin Comforter and Sheet Set, it fits his room (and his age) perfectly. He really likes the colors, and of course, SpongeBob is a hit. The sheet set is $21.99 sheet set and $32.99 for the comforter, and is available at Kmart and Kmart.com.

If you are like me, you are on a constant battle to lose or maintain your weight. Have you seen this new scale? The Taylor Bluetooth Body Fat Smart Scale is not just a really easy to use scale, but a piece of fitness technology as well.

This was a cool scale to check out- a smart scale (that is also internet enabled!) that can be synced with fitness apps via Bluetooth is really interesting and adds a whole new level. If you are trying to lose weight or just maintain, it makes it easy to keep track. The new technology helps me stay focused and easily hold myself accountable. This is a good one to have, especially with New Years resolutions right around the corner. It runs on 3 AAA batteries, and they last awhile. The scale can weigh up to 400 lbs, so even those with the most to lose can use this scale with no worries. It’s easy to use- just step on the scale, wait a few seconds (stay still) and bam- there you have it. That’s you! You can grab yours on Amazon. It’s a great gift if you know someone on a diet or fitness program, but it’s a good thing for you to have in your own home as well.

The Radio City Christmas Spectacular

This past weekend, we went into New York City to see the The Radio City Christmas Spectacular. It’s one of those things that you need to do at least once in your life, if not more often (if you are close enough that you are able).

Starting on November 7, and running through December 31, you and your family and friends can go see one of NYC’s iconic show’s (and some of the world’s most iconic dancers) to really get the holiday season started.

My son was able to meet some of the lovely ladies of the Radio City Rockettes, which was of course fun. (There was a teenage boy waiting behind us, I think it was a little more fun for him, but still.) The Rockettes have been performing at Radio City since 1932, and during the Christmas season they preform 7 days a week. The Rockettes also perform every year at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC and America’s Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit. This past week, they also lit the Empire State Building red and green for Christmas. Gotta love those hard-working ladies!

Chomp and Stomp Grimlock

Transformers have been around for a while, actually they celebrated their 30^th birthday in 2014. Originally, they were released in 1984 as a toy line. In this time period, the “robots in disguise” have changed quite a bit. Starting out as vehicles, mostly cars, then expanding into dinosaurs and animals that transform. The newest generation includes a simple transforming set of figures which go from robot to dinosaur/vehicle in one step. The biggest, literately, of these is Transformers: Age of Extinction Chomp and Stomp Grimlock who with a simple push or pull is able to swap forms. Grimlock also sports lights, sounds, and weapons that pop out. Grimlock is actually big enough where a Power Battler figure can ride on Grimlock and unlock a different set of lights and sounds, depending on weather the figure is one of the evil Decepticons or an Autobot. Included with Grimlock is an Optimus Prime figure- although he doesn’t transform, he is still fun to ride around on Grimlock with.

Post Thanksgiving Clean Up with CVS

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us and leftovers are upon us, there is only one thing to do. No, not camp out in from of an electronics store and chatter your teeth for hours. Clean up, of course. After a big meal with lots of special dishes, all those dishes need to be served in…dishes of course. Those dishes need to be scrubbed, soaked, and thoroughly washed.

CVS is here to help with the Total Home line of products. These products feature high performing household cleaners, paper goods, light bulbs and more for up to 20% less than national brands.

These are also high quality products as well. The main difference most times is the packaging as far as we can tell, and the fact that it is not a “big name” brand, but the store’s own. Glass cleaner, instant stain remover, and facial tissues are just a few of the Total Home products. They all make your life a little easier by being available at reasonable prices and at a local CVS are also nice features. (You know you are headed in for your prescriptions anyway- why stop at more then one place?)

Winter is far from my favorite season; the cold, the snow, the slippery roads- you can keep it. The only good think I can think of about winter is the adorable clothes that you get to wear.
