Splash Zone- Summer Fun at a Discount!

Hey, New Jersey people! (and the surrounding area who wish they were NJ! LOL) Time for summer in the garden state, and we all know what that means- going down the shore. The drive down to the shore can be a pest, but once there, it is so much fun to get away from reality for a bit and fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean. For families, this possible too- you just need to wear those little ones out a bit during the day. May I suggest Splash Zone Water Park in Wildwood, NJ. Goal Weight Attempt with #NSNation @Nutrisystem

Most of you know I have been trying to lose weight for about a year and a half now, and I was doing a pretty good job of it for about a year. Then, I got sick. Like, for real sick, not just the flu sick. All those medications do some terrible things to your body, and while I didn’t gain back all my weight- far from it- I did put some back on, and certainly didn’t lose any more. My muscle tone is down as well, and I have some more work to do. YAY. (ha.)

What to do? Go back to what worked really well for me, Nutrisystem and regular exercise. It’s not going to be easy, I am not in perfect health yet- but nothing worth having is ever easy, is it? My heath is worth fighting for, and hey- I still want to look good! [Read more…]

Week One of Fun at Oasis Day Camp #NJ

My son is just having the best time at Oasis Day Camp- the first week flew by. This is the first time that he has ever been away from me- I know, GASP!- and I am sure that I am annoying the junk out of a few of the counselors, but….cest la vie, I’m trying to behave! Hehe, isn’t it always the parents that are worse then the kids? 😛

The kids are separated by age, and have quite a few counselors in each group. As I had mentioned in my first post, there are no high school students at this camp- only college age and above. Many of the staff are teachers or training to be teachers. That really makes me feel good, because I know that my angel is in good hands. I’m still a little nutty, but the staff is nice to me and I am sure used to crazy parents (LOL, oh, now I’m on the other side! I have always been the one dealing with the nutty parent, not the aforementioned, ha!)

As soon as I drop him off, one of the staff members immediately engages him in a kickball game with a buddy in his group. No time like the present for having fun! This counselor is one of Little Man’s favorites, he talks about him all the time. I love knowing that he likes the Oasis staff. When I drop him off, every single morning, everyone talks to him, fully engaged, all smiles, and asks him about his day, what he did the night before, and gets him laughing. They are all super, [Read more…]
