@Kranichs Jewelers for Mother’s Day, engagements, birthdays- and anything else you can think of!
Ladies and Gentlemen- we all know what is soon approaching! Mother’s Day! Yep. Time to get a little something special for the woman who brought you into the world, stayed up endless nights with you, and made sure you always had on clean underwear. It’s the day you show mom how much she means to you. (Fellas- don’t forget, your wife is the mother of your kids, so if they are too little- help a momma out! LOL)
My mother and grandmother LOVE jewelry. I may not be the most bling-tastic girl in the world (see- Jersey Shore is just full of it!) but they make up for it in spades. Kranich’s Jewelers, a family owned and operated business established in New York over a century ago, is known fora great selection of fine jewelry and engagement rings. They have a huge selection of designer jewelry lines like the [Read more…]
Teach My Preschooler Review and Giveaway
As our little guys and gals get bigger and bigger, we all know the day will come when they will pull on their backpack and trot into preschool for the first time.
We all try our best to prepare them as best we can, practicing letters and numbers, reading to them, teaching little lessons about life when appropriate. Often times, the best way to keep your kids interested is by making a game of it, playing with toys and keeping the lessons fun.
It is this way of thinking with got the Teach My Preschooler the iParenting Media award as well as the Dr. Toy Top 100 toy award. With this package, you get 4 packets each, with emphasis on a different preschool subject- math, reading, printing and counting. Each packets has flash cards, foam letters or numbers, activities and tons of different ways to learn and have fun with your kids!
The fun part of Teach My Preschooler is it’s similarities to a board game. So if your kids like playing board games, it can be easy to incorporate this into learning time. Another [Read more…]
5 Great Places to go Scuba diving in Croatia
When you visit most of the beach destinations on holiday these days, scuba diving is now one of the
regular offerings. With the maturing of the dive industry, you can find a range of diving activities
and courses that now start from as young as 8. This truly can be a holiday activity that can be
enjoyed by the whole family.
However, the majority of scuba experiences will only give you a feel of the underwater instead of an
undersea feel. Basically, the main difference is that the natural wonders below the ocean’s surface
give you a chance to explore a diverse marine environment; sunken ships, and coral reefs to enhance
your dive holiday experience. It isn‘t just about getting wet, or learning to use the equipment –
there is so much more to scuba diving!
Croatia and The Adriatic Sea, is a destination that allows you to experience more than just an
underwater environment, it really will take you on an adventure. Over the years, I have checked out
several places to dive, as well as diving centers’ in nearly eight different countries and Croatia is a
recognized destination that offers something unique.
First of all, you have to complete a scuba diving course; normally this would be the PADI Open Water
Course. It is advisable to take this in Croatia, as part of your diving activities, or alternatively you can
complete this before you arrive. Either way, if you want to go on and dive in Croatia, you must apply
and purchase a ‘divers’ card’, to be able to scuba dive in Croatia. This normally costs 100 Kuna or
Euros equivalent.
There are five different places to dive in Croatia which I would strongly recommend, where the clear
blue seas give excellent conditions for a great dive holiday:
1) Elafity Island is a wonderful dive site and the cave that you can swim into is a great attraction.
This cave also appears to be a breeding area for fish, so you will find a lot various types in this area.
I would recommend this dive spot for more experienced divers, because the constant waves will
make for a difficult entry and exit [Read more…]
Time Management Strategies for Overwhelmed Moms
Many moms receive the moniker of “Wonder Woman” because it seems like they can juggle a million
different tasks effortlessly. Of course, the truth is that you’re at your wits end. While you are more or
less getting by, you might start to find that the many tasks you take on in a day are not receiving your
full attention, leading to blunders that could be potentially disastrous. Yup, moms are definitely a busy,
multitasking lot. But that doesn’t mean you can’t find ways to manage your time more effectively, reducing
stress and making for a happier household (and a happier you). Here are a few tips to try at your leisure,
and most will produce more leisure time.
1. Learn to say no. For most moms, this is easier said than done. You may be able to say no to your
kids when they want to go out for ice cream, but it can be a bit more difficult to turn down your
sister when she asks you to sit for her kids (what’s the problem – can’t they just play with your
kids?) or your church group when they call on you to provide your famous brownies for the bake
sale. But when it comes to time management, saying no is an absolute imperative. You don’t have
to give excuses and you don’t have to feel guilty. Your family is your priority and they have to
come before other obligations. By the way, you are also a priority, and don’t forget it.
2. Embrace imperfection. When you were living single, you might have enjoyed a spotless home.
But now you have kids, so it’s time to accept that sometimes a job half done is good enough. Being
a perfectionist just doesn’t work when it comes to running a home that houses a family. So instead
of checking for water spots on the [Read more…]
Dill Pickle Tartar Sauce Recipe
We love fish in our house and we try to have it once a week. There’s never left overs, and rarely do I get seconds. My kids eat it so fast I’d be lucky to finish my own plate before they are already asking for more.
An easy way to change up fish in our house is trying different sauces to go along with it. It’s easy to make Tartar sauce, and really all you do is add things in there till it’s to your liking. The basic tartar sauce is mayo, mustard and some sort of juice, whether it be lime or lemon, even pickle juice. Your seasoning is hot sauce or pepper or capers. All you would do is mix it up gently and chill it before you serve. Pretty easy to dress up some fish and each time you make it you can spice it up to what you want that day. This is one of my kid’s favorites.

How to Drastically Reduce Your Weekly Commuting Costs
When it comes to your daily commute you’ve got plenty to gripe about. Not only does getting to work and
home again take up a huge chunk of free time that could be spent with your family, but you also have to
deal with the hassles of gridlock (you are all too familiar with the concept of road rage) and the major cost
associated with sitting in traffic for a couple of hours each day. It’s enough to make you think about quitting
your job and taking less money to work closer to home. But before you hang up your hat and turn in your
resignation, consider that there might be ways to cut back on both the costs and stresses associated with
your commute. Here are a few options you may want to look into.
Thanks to the growth of the internet and mobile communications, you may be able to do your job (or at
least a portion of it) from home via telecommuting. This is a fantastic option for anyone who spends the
majority of the work day operating online. If your company is forward-thinking or geared toward eco-
innovation, you might not have a hard time selling them on the idea of telecommuting at least a couple of
days a week (or even setting up some kind of program for employees in similar circumstances whereby
their duties do not necessarily require their presence in the office). In truth, this could be a win-win for
you and your employers, reducing their liability and utility bills even as it gives employees the chance for
greater job satisfaction and reduced commuting costs.
Of course, not all businesses are keen to leave [Read more…]
