OshKosh B’gosh have been around since 1895 starting business as overall manufacturers in OshKosh, Wisconsin for adults.  Soon after they began making these same overalls a bit smaller for their customers’ children and the story began.  Since then OshKosh have made quality children’s clothing and currently have stores across the country.  As of now, OshKosh is showcasing their Spring collections of children’s clothes.  There are brightly colored dresses, shorts and shoes for the little ladies.  The Striped Shirts for boys and for the tiny ones in your life, prints and patterns to complement the little cuties at every stop.

At a recent shopping trip to the local OshKosh store, we were pleasantly surprised with the attentiveness of the staff.  The staff was easy to find but not hovering too close.  The quality and quantity of items available and the prices of the garments were wonderful as well.  Shopping for Little Man was a breeze and we were able to get 3 pairs of pants, 2 shorts, 6 shirts, 1 sweatshirt, and 3 teddy bears, for $100.73.  Is three teddy bears excessive? Yes, yes it is.  But he could not decide which he wanted, and they were all quite inexpensive, so it was easy for me to cave in and make his day, LOL.  Little Man loves warm snuggly clothing (anything fuzzy and soft) but also has an appreciation for anything with animals or super heroes on it.  There was lots of soft and cuddly clothes and quite a few with animals, as well.  The OshKosh baby section also had tons of adorable baby wear if you are looking.

Dresses For An Evening Out

Nice nights out come along few and far to long between.  With families and jobs, life and responsibilities often gets in the way of romance and together time.  But with careful planning, a sitter, and a prayer they are possible.

The first step to a night out is simple: When?  When are you going out?  Usually it makes more sense to pick a weekend night.  There are lots of factors out of your control during the week including traffic, long day at work, sleepy spouses, and canceling sitters. All of which can all pop up more often on a week night then not.  Find a sitter and figure out a time that works best.  Maybe an overnight for your little one with a relative or friend so your night ends with more then just a delicious dessert.

What to Wear This Valentine’s Day

Now that the holidays are past us and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, the question on many a woman’s mind is “What am I going to wear?” Most women are looking for something sexy and more glam than their usual out-on-the-town outfit. There are endless possibilities when it comes to putting together a trend-setting outfit. Be creative with your style. The most romantic date night of the year should celebrate your individual style. Don’t be afraid to drape yourself in decadence with fabulous accessories and detailed dresses. From sequins to silk, from leather to denim, have fun with your style this Valentine’s Day.

A super-popular old-school look is the good-old fit-and-flare style for dresses. Popular in casual and dressy styles, this look stems from the “skater chic” that was so popular in the fall. As we entrench ourselves into the cold months of winter, hems have become a bit longer. To really exaggerate this hourglass silhouetted, try a crinoline slip.

If pants are more to your liking, the popular choice this season is skinny, skinny, skinny. If that look isn’t for you, however, try a 1970s-influenced bell bottom boot cut pant.

Check out the items below for some specific outfit ideas:

Start with this adorable textured black mini skirt. This classic style is also fun and flirty. Pair it with a sexy top and strappy sandals if you are in warmer climes. If its winter temperatures you’ll be dealing with, however, tights—try some with a little shimmer—and high-heeled boots will keep you warm while still looking sexy. Or try some textured tights and an ankle boot for something a little edgier!

A patterned, silky skirt will offer you plenty of variety in terms of tops and shoes you can pair it with. With a sexy tank top, you’ll be ready for a night on the town. Add a camisole and jacket, and this skirt will take you to the office in style.

Ideal Wedding Gown Styles for The Plus Size Bride

Shopping for a bridal gown should be a fun activity for the bride to share with her mother, sister or close friend. If you’re a plus-sized bride-to-be, you may be concerned that you won’t find something flattering in a wedding gown. Knowing which style is correct for the type of body you have can help ease some of the stress when you’re trying on dresses. If you are knowledgeable about what works best with your body type, you can turn your gown-buying day from a nightmare into a dream.

 plus sized wedding dresses

A plus-sized bride with a thick middle should consider trying on an A-line dress with an empire waistline. This traditional waistline starts under the bust, flows outward, and ends with a wide amount of fabric at bottom. This popular technique draws attention away from the woman’s waist. Look for a sweetheart, portrait or square neckline, which will bring attention up toward your face. Avoid halter necks or plunging necklines if you are large busted. A common tacky tactic among busty brides is to draw attention to their cleavage. This isn’t a good look for your wedding day. A bride should be regal with all eyes on her face or her beautiful dress, not her bust.A ballgown-style dress can be quite flattering on a larger bride. Avoid a style that adds extra fabric or
fullness to the the bottom half of the dress. Hoop skirts are out of style and only create the illusion of extra weight. Although many brides want a strapless dress, it is usually not a good choice for a bride who has weight in her upper arms and back. A bride who has a large bust is also advised to avoid a strapless gown. If she insists on a strapless dress, she can wear a bolero jacket or wrap to cover her arms.

Wedding Dresses at DressFirst.com

dressfirst

Wedding dresses have been around for a very long time.  They first became made popular by Queen Victoria in the 19th century.  Wedding dresses come in many shapes and sizes but there are in general three categories of dresses.  These three encompass every wedding dress in existence, getting more specific as we go down our list.  The classification of the dress into one of these categories is easy but also some dresses fall into more then one category, even all three at times.

These categories are:

Wedding dress: This is a category that will encompass all dresses.  A wedding dress, anything worn by the bride to a wedding.  From traditional to the not at all traditional, they are all wedding dresses.  This category includes every wedding dress.

Beach Wedding dress:  These are a bit different from a regular wedding dress.  These are meant to be worn outdoors and are cut a bit higher to keep from dragging in the sand.  Some are even made to drag in the sand a bit for a flowing fabric over sand look.

5 Ways to Save Money on Your Teen’s Prom Night Expenses

dressUnless your teen is the independent, responsible, and/or resourceful type, chances are good that you’re going to end up pitching in for prom night expenses, or even paying the tab in full. And this could end up costing you hundreds of dollars between tickets for the dance, a dress or tux, dinner out, a limo for the night, and perhaps a hotel room for the after party, if you happen to be an open-minded and lenient sort of parent. It’s almost as bad as those super sweet 16 parties you see on reality shows! Well, not quite that bad, but for the parent on a tight budget, paying for prom can be a stretch. Luckily, there are plenty of ways you can save money and still deliver the once-in-a-lifetime experience your teen will remember for the rest of his or her life. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you trim expenses.

Split the limo for the night. It doesn’t make sense for your teen to pay for a stretch limo for just him or her and a date. Instead, recommend splitting a large car with several other couples or even a big group if your teen and friends have decided to go as a group anyway. This way all of the parents can pitch in for a portion of the cost, saving each family a ton of dough.

Host a pre-game party at the house. Instead of sending the kids out for a fancy dinner, have them pre-game at your house, along with all their friends, with snacks, finger food, or anything that’s not going to spill on their fancy outfits. If you want to make it even more affordable, make it a potluck and invite the other parents as well. You can all snap pics of the kids and continue your own party once the teens leave for the prom. As for the after party, consider a slumber party in the basement or living room following the prom so there is some parental supervision and you can skip the cost of a hotel room (which teens aren’t really allowed to be in without a parent anyway).
