Pokemon have been around since 1996, with each game building upon the familiar role playing game elements of leveling up and exploring a vast territory while weaving a grand story line. It also pairs with the fun of collecting cute little critters who sometimes end up being your most kick butt vine entangled turtle. This main concept is seen throughout the new Pokemon X and Pokemon Y but now with more Pokemon, more varied battle, new mega evolution and tons more features. All of which make this the definitive Pokemon game for the 3DS/2DS game.
The game starts out with the player picking a character to play as, boy or girl, then soon after you pick your starter Pokemon. Your choices are Chespin, a grass type, Fennekin, a fire type, Froakie, a water type. The choice is difficult but Chespin was our pick. Little Man likes to pick the cutest. But at least he gave it a tough name, iloveu. We couldn’t fit I Love You Pokemon.

Ouya Gaming System
There is a spot in your living room right now that is one of the most sought after spots in America. No, its not that spot on the couch where Sheldon sits or Dad’s recliner. It’s the game console, hooked to your TV. With the holiday season upon us and the forthcoming releases of two power house systems, this spot is happening.
In our house, there are more video consoles then there are TV’s. We have a problem with video games. Video games are a fun distraction from everyday life that are creative and engaging. One of the inhibiting factors with video games can be cost. Video game consoles have been creeping up in cost over the years as have the games themselves. With this in mind we are taking a look at the new kid on the block- Ouya.
Ouya started life as a Kick starter campaign, and quickly became fully funded and then some, becoming one of the most funded projects. Ouya is an android, 4.1 jelly bean, based micro console. The hardware itself is quite small, measuring only 2.95 and cubic in shape, it is about the size of half a pound of butter, but with way less calories. Under the hood the console sports a Quad-core 1.7 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 MP Core and 1 GB of RAM. The hardware does its job well and because of Ouya’s open source thought process has great potential for upgrades and do it yourself add-ons.

Tablets can be great fun, if you know how to use them. Kids are now exposed to a plethora of technology which previous generations could barely dream of and the best way to get them into the swing of things is by letting them use them. The issue being most tablets are sensitive pieces of electronics. So what is a parent to do?
Well Ematic has an idea, a kid friendly tablet made just for kids with parents in mind called the Funtab Pro.
The Funtab has tons of features to help ease you into letting your kids use a tablet for learning or play. Some of these features are the award winning Zoodles for Kids interface which keeps kids safe and parent traceable online and off while still giving them the freedom and ability to use their new tablet. Not only is Zoodles an option but also a fully unlocked tablet is accessible for parents or kids if you so wish.

In the current world of downsizing and cost cutting there is always a new way to shave a dollars off your expense. One such way is your entertainment costs. Specifically TV.
In our house TV is used usually at night while unwinding. Not only is TV good for watching those great new shows but also its a good way to just get lost in a show. My grand idea is to cut the cord with the cable company. The main issue being the TV has two uses, can a replacement be found which fits both of these difficult niches?
We gave PlayOn a try. PlayOn is a service provided which gives just about any DLNA- compliant devices including: Playstation 3, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, Google TV, brite-View CinemaTube, and Sony Bravia DLNA-compatible HDTV.
PlayOn works by unlocking TV channels from the internet. There are tons of channels, with hours of TV shows ranging from old TV shows, to newly released movies and music videos. By downloading new Plugins new channels are opened to you.
The process is quite simple as well. First download the software to your desktop. Next download a few plugins and start up the software. After teh software is running turn on your TV connected device and find your media stream. Then watch your show.

The Skylanders are invading, for a third time. This time they are coming in pieces. Skylanders Swap Force is the newest Skylanders game and revolves around the mechanics of swapping the top and bottom powers to make new combinations of characters. For example if one character can move quickly with a tire and has an arm cannon, but you would rather have tentacle feet and an arm cannon, the cannon top can be attached to the tentacle feet for the best of both worlds. The way the Swap Force figures stick together are by two small magnets. These hold the figures together while playing, but are easy to pull apart when you would like to. By combining characteristics from both top and bottom players are able to reach new areas in the game as well.
New Skylanders Game
The story itself takes place on Cloudbreak Island, where you have to with the help of some new and old friends take on Kaos once again in order to save all of Skyland. This time around characters can now fly, climb, dig, bounce, or teleport their way through their adventures.

VTech have created a brand new tablet, and this time they pull out all the stops. This tablet starts with VTech’ s award winning InnoTab and adds a ton of new features.
The brand new InnoTab 3S has brought a familiar friend with it this time around, Wi-Fi. Now able to access local Wi Fi the InnoTab can now connect to the Learning Lodge and has access to tons of apps, games, and ebooks. Also the 3S gives kids access to the internet. I know this can seem kind of scary for parents, but rest assured there are a ton of safety features. The most important being, access, the tablet can only access websites approved by parents, so no Facebook yet boys and girls. Another interesting new feature included with the InnoTab is Kid Connect. This app lets little ones use their tablet as a sort of smart phone. Parents are able to send and received text messages to the tablet and keep in touch with kids wherever there is a Wi-Fi connection via their smart phone.

Rayman Legends Video Game

Rayman is back in all his legendary glory in the game, Rayman Legends. This newest entry in the Rayman series follows in the footsteps of Rayman Origins.
This time Rayman is out to jump, punch, bounce and float his way through 120 levels of 2.5 dimensions of platforming fun. 2.5 dimensions means for the most part, it is a 2D game but throughout the levels, characters hop from from to back or creatures will slink from area to area, making for some very interesting game play. Legends is blast to play and is one of those games that are easy to play yet hard to master in that oh so rewarding jump and bounce way. When running from dragons or just trying to hop off a cliff before it crumbles away, the most rewarding moments in Rayman are when a level is finished and you get that wonderful end level Rayman dance.
