Veggie Tales – Live Shows Coming to a Theater Near You

Who has a child that loves Veggie Tales? If your child loves the show as much as mine does, then you will be excited to know that Veggie Tales is touring with a live show! The Silly Sing Along is coming to a stage near you, so don’t wait, and get your tickets now.

We went to see the show this past weekend, and had a great time. Larry, Bob and all the gang were there with all the silly, wholesome fun you and your kids love from the TV series. The Veggies preform the songs that your family knows and loves already in a fun sing a long, while they and their human friends dance and sing on stage (and the audience does in the aisle as well).

The Veggies are super excited about their new TV show! But, which song is the silliest? Chaos is bound to ensue when no one can agree on a favorite silly song. A new invention is unveiled to reveal the silliest of all silly songs. But when the machine malfunctions and Jimmy disappears, the Veggies must find a way to get along and get Jimmy back!

Playmobile Toys- Fun Sets for Everyone

There are tons of toys out there that have international appeal but none with quite the same depth and broad range of toys as Playmobile. With each toy set that is released, the universe gets bigger and bigger and some of the most recent sets includes motors or stow away in an easy way. Today we are looking at the new RC Pirate Ship with Underwater motor and the My Secret Dragon’s Lair Play Box. Both of which are great fun for kids of all ages.

First up we will take a look at the huge RC pirate ship. This pirate ship has tons of details and tons of accessories to make play time as a pirate a blast. There is even a cannon! The pirate ship itself is about 4 feet long and about as high once put together. The process ot put it together doesn’t take too long the most difficult part being tying off the ropes in the proper way to make the sails look real and complete the pirate ship feel of the toy. But even that is easy to follow so don’t panic.

Build a Bear Pop Up in Times Square

There is a new Build a Bear Pop-Up store in Times Square, NYC just in time for the holiday season. My son had a great time picking out and stuffing new friends, and taking them through the workshop dressing them, “giving them a bath”, brushing them, dressing them, and naming them- of course making them his own.

This is one of my son’s favorite places, Build a Bear. He loves going, and even on his way out the door, all he can talk about is the next time we can go back, and who he wants to make and take home next.

While we were at the brand new Build a Bear, my son was able to take part in the ribbon cutting ceremony

and stuff his own Michelangelo Ninja Turtle and dress him up, as well as dress his Olaf! Both are available now at most Build a Bear locations and online.

He also stuffed a teddy for charity- these bears are being donated by Build a Bear to kids in need of a little bit of teddy bear love right in New York City. The first 200 guests to the new Build-A-Bear Workshop store are invited to make a special stuffed animal for free to donate to the 92nd Street Y, which promotes individual and family development and participation in civic life. The 92nd Street Y will distribute the stuffed animals to local children in need of a teddy bear hug.

Ladybug: A Cricket Magazine

Over the next few months, we will be featuring a line of Cricket Media magazines. The first in this series is Ladybug. Ladybug is made for children aged 3 to 6 years old. Ladybug magazine features young child level stories of small length perfect for a bed time tale or an afternoon escape. What makes this magazine so special is that there are not only stories in it, but also poems, songs, and beautiful illustrations to complement them. Sometimes the stories are in familiar picture book format with picture on top and text at the bottom of the page, while others are in a more freestyle format where words are printed in various parts of the page from leaves in a tree to an underwater cavern. The stories included range from fiction to nonfiction. You might read anything from a kids account of city life to facts about various countries. Songs are presented with not only lyrics but also the music in order to play the song on a musical instrument which would be great fun for those parents or children musically inclined. Ladybug offers an interactive sampler to give you a taste for the magazine which is a nice touch.

Jesse the Jack’s ABC Zoo iBook and App

Jesse the Jack’s ABC Zoo is the newest App and eBook for Apple devices, developed by Best Buddies Learning. You may be asking who Jesse the Jack is- he is a purebred, Jack Russell Terrier who lives to entertain. He has made appearances on Good Morning America, Nickelodeon, The Late Show with David Letterman, Animal Planet, CBS, NBC, ABC, Disney, VH1, and The Rachael Ray Show to name a few. Unlike regular dogs, Jesse knows some incredible tricks like handstands, skateboarding, riding a rocking horse, and even putting the dishes in the dishwasher. However, his most recent foray is digital and teaches children the alphabet.

Best Buddies learning was created by Rob Keim in November 2013 to make reading and learning fun for kids. Based in San Diego, the company partnered with Jesse the Jack to launch its first of many iBook and app, ABC Zoo.
